US & AUSTRALIAN BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE; BECAUSE OF RECENT UPGRADED SECURITY REGULATIONS I CAN ONLY SHIP VEHICLES TO PERSONS IN THE US OR AUSTRALIA WHO ARE IN THE POSSESSION OF AN OFFICIAL PASSPORT. (AN ID-CARD OR DRIVERS-LICENSE ETC. ARE NOT GETTING ACCEPTED ANYMORE BY AUTHORITIES IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY A RECIPIENT). PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU?ˆ™RE ABLE TO MEET WITH THIS REQUIREMENT BEFORE BIDDING. OR MAKE SURE YOU CAN HAVE SOMEONE IN LINE WITH A VALID US OR AUSTRALIAN PASSPORT WHO IS WILLING TO HELP YOU OUT ON THIS. About how I?ˆ™m able to offer with no reserve and free shipping. read explanation in bottom of this description. The French (Paris based) company Mandille et Roux (MR) was formed in 1926. Special versions made by the factory competed succesfull at long-distance events of the timeLike the pictures are showing this 1938 motorcycle has many nice and original details which makes it a real pleasure to look at. The old paint is showing age and patina. all the panel-work (fenders. gas-tank etc. ) are solid with only having some light surface rust (and please note the original and very refined pinstriping that is still visible all over the bike). The reason that is still in such a fair condition lies in the fact that it has spent its life in the very south of France. where the very mild climate helped to preserve the bike for future generations. Also very nice is that the original tools are still with the bike. Back in the days many bike manufacturers often made the choice to fit an engine that was bought elsewhere. nbsp;where this model is equipped with a German made Sachs engine. The engine like fitted is still the original one which number matches with the original frame-id plate (see images). These Sachs engines are well known because of their durability and still today parts for it are fairly easy to find. Personally I regard the condition where the bike is in not as something really disturbing. machines from this era and in this condition are getting over the years much harder to find and now already command prices higher than nicely restored equivalents. but then of course there?ˆ™s always the choice of giving this machine a second life by restoring it.
The engine turns smoothly. has really Magnificent compression and looks to be in a good and unmolested shape. I did not make any attempts to get it running as it has been standing for a long period of time. but as it mechanically seems fine I think it won?ˆ™t take very much to get it going again. I have been searching for another bike like this on the net. but have only managed to find one more of this make/model. which bike belongs to a gentleman in France who's asking in a forum about more information about his bike. His machine has framenumber 3029. meaning that this particular bike was produced only 27 bikes later than the one (=VIN 3002) that is on offer here! Of course I'm happy to share this information with the future buyer of this bike. This machine comes with an official European certificate of origin which states the make. model. year. displacement. weight etc. plus an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I?ˆ™ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here. which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride. -On this listing I?ˆ™m offering a special (fully sealed) crate. careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US cfs as close as possible to you at my expense. Please note; In case the bike needs to be shipped to another destination than the US. please ask whether I can offer you such a deal as well before placing a bid (mostly this is not a problem. but then it?ˆ™s always better to make sure). Furthermore. when you want to receive some better photo's of the bike/shipping. or want to recieve more information about this item. just let me know. -Additional information to this listing;Like can be seen. the bike has after 76 years MANY traces of use and age (patina). I only offer shipping by sea. where of course we can advise you on forehand about the process of importing the machine into your country. Like can be read in the link. nbsp;this antique bike is because of its age and displacement exempt from US import-duty and EPA regulations; https://help. cbp. gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/278/~/importing-classic-or-antique-vehicles-%2F-cars-for-personal-useThe crate will safely sail in a sealed container and the shipment is fully insured for eventual damage/loss.
I accept payments through PayPal.
In previous listings I've received many times the same question; "how are you able to offer a bike without any reserve and free shipping£" Where also often has been suggested; ?ˆ?Is this a scam£"It is always a kind of sad experience whenever hearing that my best intentions are reason for any negative opinions or thoughts.
Thus about how this is possible. . basically very simple;
I am a classic motorcycle dealer since the year 1979 and over the last three decades my main business has become making nice and rare motorcycles available to customers all over the world. for which activity I have over the years only used one single shipping-company* (*that now has more than 80 years of experience).
For reason that I'm having shipments on a constant/weekly base. I buy at the beginning of each year a big amount of shipping-volume against a huge discount (which enables me to ship at Very low cost but on the same go have high quality shipments).
When counting to this that by experience I?ˆ™ve learned that a serious bike will always attract a serious customer. which person is also willing to pay a fairly correct price. then this is how I?ˆ™m able to make such offers. make money for a living and always have a satisfied customer.
Before listing a bike with no-reserve and free shipping. I of course always keep in mind that on a (for me) unfortunate day I can loose a little money on it. but then of course that?ˆ™s just life (and on the other hand the advantage for the buyer!)
I always pack the bikes myself. only use certified crates plus new packing-materials and deliver the crated machines in person at the Antwerp warehouse of the shipping-company (see images).
