Description

Here we have a gorgeous "Matching Numbers" 1953 Vincent Comet.

She has undergone some minor commissioning by Len Haggis motorcycles which consisted of: New stainless front and rear rims with Vincent coach lining (supplied by Conways). Stainless steel spokes. New front tyre. Brand new correct Amal 229/F Carburettor. Many items rechromed. New battery. New exhaust and silencer. New rubbers and New headlamp.

In total approximately ??2. 00 has just been spent on her but the result is a stunning machine.

Additionally. the engine was subject to an overhaul in 2010 (approx. 1. 00 miles ago) at which time. a new big end was fitted. new main bearings and oil pump and regrinding the valves etc.

She comes with lots of history. including:

1. Original "Certificate of Authenticity" from the Vincent Owners Club dated 22/9/99

2. Factory Works Records dated 22/4/53 detailing that the bike was despatched to Kings in Manchester.

3. Numerous MOT's and invoices dating back to 1996.

4. Details from H&H Auction catalogue when bike was sold to previous owner (21/22 July 2009)

5. V5C - registration is transferable and a good reg too! This alone was valued @ ??2. 00.

All numbers "match" - Frame is RC/1/2A/9660 and engine is F5AB/2A/9690 and crankcase "pairing" is 7716.

Bike comes with original tyre inflator fitted under the tank (these are rare now and last one I saw on ebay went for ??400!!) and also full set of stands (rear. centre and sides) and crash bars.

The bike was ridden at the 2007 Isle of Man Centenial Parade and I acquired her earlier this year from a fellow VOC member.

Sadly. she has to go now as need the money for other projects.

A beautiful honest machine with lots of history and pedigree and a rock solid investment.

May consider a part exchange for other British bikes.

Bike is located in Shenfield. Essex.
