Here we have a totally unrestored (apart from a botched repair around the front mudguard where the fixing holes are) a 1953 velocette MAC 350cc. Original registration VRB732. Original paintwork/transfers. riginal seats. riginal lighting. riginal ggearbox and engine. etcAlso showing 24541 miles on speedo which I think is genuine
According to the velocette owners club this bike is a strong contender for preservation in this condition. Anyone can have a restored MAC . ut few can have an original one.
This MAC was sold on invoice number 23123 on 26-8-1954 to Smiths of Bakewell on buxton road and was the only rigid mac he ever sold It apparently was one of the last 27 rigid macs sold by the factory
Engine number MAC19302. rame number MB12981 and was last on the road in 1977 according to the last tax disc I have got . The engine turns freely but have not yet got round to running the engine/recomissioning it.
The last owner was a well known auctioneer in bakewell who had it stored away in a barn for many year.
A new project requires reluctant sale to make room. Buyer will not be disappointed. Also have material which I have collected on researching the bikes history.
