YAMAHA YZ 250 ENGINED QUAD, TRI-Z, Z250

You are looking at my Yamaha Quad. It was built around 1989 but is in very good condition considering its age. In the summer it was treated to a Fresh Paint job. in contrasting Orange & Black. along with all new pipes to the carb in Orange. At the same time it also had the Waterpump/Crank case seal replaced. along with fresh transmission oil. At the same time i also decided to change the front sprocket for one which was 2 teeth smaller as it was far too fast at top end and you rarely got out of third gear over the fields. It has always been run using Putoline Motocross 2T oil since i've owned it. It has working front and rear lights. The engine that these were built with is very similar to that of a similar aged Liquid Cooled Yamaha YZ250 engine. Although the YZ featured a YPVS and the Quad does not. Originally these quads were actually built to be Trikes known as TRI-Z 250. They were then banned by the EU due to too many accidents because of their dangerous nature. at this point yamaha quickly built a modified front end. to sell the remaining ones they had left as quad known as a Z250 (these are extremely rare nowadays. There was also a company which offered a conversion kit to convert a TRI-Z250 to a Z250. I am not sure if this quad is a Yamaha converted one or a Self-Converted one. I assume this is probably a self-build as it has a fibreglass front mudguard set. i would assume yamaha to fit a plastic one the same as the rear. However the welding of the front end is extremely good and it has genuine yamaha front brake callipers so could be a yamaha built one with a replaced front mudguard. There are a few marks around the quad. mostly on the front mudguard but these are not problematic nor do they ruin the look of the Quad. This quad is not for the faint hearted. it is very powerful. It is ready to take out and play. this will be great fun if we get snow again this winter.
