1994 yamaha xj600s diversion

600 diversion s with around 38000 miles   long mot. ecent pads/rear tyre. heated grips. oodridge hoses. motad stainless full system  (its been painted but solid). bike ran well but developed a fuel starvation problem that needs looked at. the carbs are flooding and the fuel that leaks is dirty brown in colour. have since found out the tank was rusty inside and was coated by petseal. he old type (pre ethanol)  so what has happened ethanol in the fuel has eaten away at the petseal and its that and probably some rust that has got into the carbs. it WONT fire up the way it is but fires up easily with a scoot of easy start.   so tank and carbs will need cleaned/flushed. the rust in the tank does not look to heavy but its there. i have a replacement vacum fuel pump to be fitted as well in case the one on the bike is contaminated. decent enough looking but is 20 years old. bottom half of engine was painted but the leaking fuel has made a mess of it. good winter project
