Description

This is my own Beta REV3 250. she is in the good clean condition so hard to find at this price range and being a REV3 still a very capable weapon and trophy winning mount. given more talent than myself. I took weeks on & off. drove around three counties. saw over six other so called "yeah she's a minter mate" frogs before I found this little princess. she really is in good clean condition with a good pedigree too having been owned by. ermm how can I say being polite. more mature owners. I purchased her from my friend Carl a fellow club member & Carl did the same before me! She is the sort of cheaper example that we all want but is so hard to find with most trials bikes at this end of the market living a hard life. never seeing a spanner. no oil changes. wheelied & ragged for endless hours in fields. woods & farms. but this one bucks the trend only being used for irregular competition where poor maintainance leaves you going home early. waiting for your friend to finish & tell you how much fun the ride was. this is all & after paying your transport and entry fees. not good. Although a few years old now she hasn't seen too many hours use having spent a lot of her life in dry storage. still having an Michelin 2004 rear tyre & in serviceable condition too (!) & she still even has the original paintwork & bodywork. She has just had a transmission oil/air filter/chassis lube service & clean ready to use. At the end of 2011 had an engine rebuild by Paul Nash Motorcycles. Carl thought she needed a rebuild but the strange clicky noise from the engine was in fact only a broken kickstart spring. his loss our gain. there are bills for this work which is nice though. She is fully road registered and HPI checked. has a current daytime MOT with no advise notes bar the daytime use. taxed too but now non transferable & my insurance premium for one years of fully comp' cover is a mere ??68. These Beta's are for me the best of the bunch of the new & used trials bikes having a great reputation for very solid build. light weight. easy handling. good smoooth power delivery & still very capable (in the right hands) I bought her to get into trials & she has served me very well indeed over the last 2 years. never missed a beat. She has always starts 2nd or 3rd from cold even being sat unused for weeks. never sulky. settles to good idle. good. quiet. strong engine with no excess coolant use. fan cuts in correctly. no excess smoke from faulty gearbox seals. no rattles/knocks or anything else to make one 'suck a tooth'. runs & settles to correct temperature. quiet gearbox all gears present. no jumping out of gear. nice light clutch. no terrible clutch basket rattles. tyres are Michelin old. but in serviceable condition. Chain & sprockets are serviceable. front and rear pads good with the rears having done an hour. no nasty mechanical dramas or disappointmentsShe is now for sale due to my wish to relive my youth and compete in the slower paced & hopefully easier twin-shock trials. I say 'compete' but my idea of competing is really an excuse for a sociable & cheap day out (??15 entry fee. half a gallon of fuel in the bike). have a good chat sometimes in the middle of a section after getting lost. never counting the dabs. getting a better result than I think possible & keeping myself fit and. this trials business is actually quite strenuous! So in summery a cheap but certainly not nasty example and a great introduction to the heady world of trials & proper bike control. Please note that the bike is NOT stored at the sales address stated. she is currently living IN my office at house. so please call for details. its great to have an understanding wife! Delivery can be arranged thru Lee Costello transport. I've used Lee a few times recently for old classic bikes and I have found him is very reliable. there maybe cheaper but he is insured. I have no connection to him but he has been good to deal with. Speedy Working Motor SWM wanted!E&OE
