Hecker was once a leading German motorcycle factory that was in business from 1921 to 1956. Like the pictures are showing this 1938 motorcycle has many nice and original details which makes it a real pleasure to look at.  The old paint is showing age and patina. all the panel-work (fenders. gas-tank etc. ) are solid with only having some light surface rust. Back in the days many bike manufacturers often made the choice to fit an engine that was bought elsewhere. nbsp;where this model is equipped with an also German made Sachs engine. These Sachs engines are well known because of their uncomplicated design and durability. where still today parts for it are fairly easy to find. Personally I regard the condition where the bike is in not as something really disturbing. machines from this era and in this condition are getting over the years much harder to find and now already command prices higher than nicely restored equivalents. but then of course there?ˆ™s always the choice of giving this machine a second life by restoring it.  

The engine turns smoothly and has really Magnificent compression.  I did not make any attempts to get it running as it has been standing for a long period of time. but as it mechanically seems fine and everything is in place I think it won?ˆ™t take very much to get it going again. With the bike is a shop manual (with good images) and parts manual (also with good images) for the engine. both in German language. Another interesting item on the bike is the original Sachs spark-plug cap (see image). . these caps are today very rare and sought after. where this one is still in a good condition.  This machine comes with an official European certificate of origin which states the make. model. year. displacement. weight etc. plus an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium.  For reason that I'm having shipments on a constant/weekly base. I buy at the beginning of each year a big amount of shipping-volume against a huge discount (which enables me to ship at Very low cost but on the same go have high quality shipments).

When counting to this that by experience I?ˆ™ve learned that a serious bike will always attract a serious customer. which person is also willing to pay a fairly correct price. then this is how I?ˆ™m able to make such offers. make money for a living and always have a satisfied customer.  

Before listing a bike with no-reserve and free shipping. I of course always keep in mind that on a (for me) unfortunate day I can loose a little money on it. but then of course that?ˆ™s just life (and on the other hand the advantage for the buyer!)

I always pack the bikes myself. only use certified crates plus new packing-materials and deliver the crated machines in person at the Antwerp warehouse of the shipping-company (see images).
