My Vincent started life on 13/6/1950. when it was first registered. The bike has all matching numbers throughout. There is quite a good book of history including two black and white photographs from the 1960's. old MOT certificate's giving good provenance. The bike was bought by my father and I as a joint project as he had the same bike in the late 1950's but sold it to emigrate which he regretted so much. We bought it as a barn find as you can see from the photo's I have listed. My dad and I wanted to do a loving restoration. to make it a usable bike for my dad. The Bike has had the majority of steel vapour blasted and powder coated including the oil tank. main support. the rear arm. basically everything has been overhauled. Before the project could start to be rebuilt. my father passed away. I have continued with his wishes to do a loving restoration. but the bike has too many memories. I have re-assembled it with his request in mind. I have bought numerous replacement parts. including a new inner tube. new Altette horn. also the horn bracket. replaced the broken mudguard stay. new rear light. wiring loom from Motorcycle electrical services (upgraded type). battery box. Brass grease gun. stickers. The original petrol tank which was in a poor state has been professionally repainted to a perfect high gloss finish. I have left the original tank cover on to protect it. There is a new petrol cap. new cables where required. new fuel taps. The bike was started when it was delivered in July 2014. but has not been touched in this restoration. The seat has been re-built using laser ply to the same dimensions of the original and the original seat base has been re-covered by an upholsterer. The relevant aluminium parts have been polished. two of the original brakes drums were welded and redressed by the previous owner. but they have been replaced. The wheels have been cleaned. but not restored as they are original. The bike has a Lucas headlight. the speedometer is original. but will need restoration as the trip has lost its end to reset it. THE OTHER STUFF. I have not fitted a battery or replaced the Dynamo which was missing when it was delivered. I have invested in a new loom which was also missing. The aluminium mudguards have not been restored as one has a 1" crack in it. the decisions on the upgrade to an Alternator or a restore to a Dynamo and the battery combination to the new owner. There was no tool kit for the bike. but the bracket under the seat has been powder coated. just not fitted. The exhaust is heavily scuffed from when a previous rider had dropped it on the right side. I have numerous gaskets and two of the rare original Vincent badges for on the tank. I hope that my efforts are to the prospective owners liking. Buyers with less than 5 transactions please do not bid without contacting me first. The winning buyer will need to pay a ??250 paypal payment withing two days and the remainder by bankers draft by agreement. I have also advertised this bike in vintage clubs elsewhere.
