Fully restored Rickman Metisse Aermacchi 350 1968.

The bike was manufactured in June 1968 and delivered to Lawton and Wilson. Since this time it has been raced by Gordon Bell. George Miller. Ian Boyd and others. It has competed in the manx GP. Ulster GP. Southern 100 and others during it's life.

The bike was purchased by myself in 'as raced' condition and has now been fully restored to original racing condition.

The bike has a brand new Rickman frame built by Rickman Motorcycles using the original master frame (the first to be produced since the original batch in the late 1960's). The original frame is included. this had lost some of it's nickel plating so I decided to buy a new frame (frame number R276). The original engine has been fully rebuilt by Dick Linton and Shaun Lee (crank. rod. piston. bearings. seals etc. etc. ). It has been run at low RPM for an hour on the dyno to bed the engine in and to set a base line figure for the original Dellorto SS1 B 35 carb. The tank. seat. fairing and mudguard are brand new but the originals are included (new fairing now fitted) - these are useable and very solid (the fairing has all of the original race stickers). The rolling chassis and wheels have all been fully refurbished (all parts vapour blasted and rebuilt) - the wheels have new stainless spokes. tyres and bearings. Dick Linton rear sprocket and new chain. The original 41mm forks have been rebuilt with new seals and fresh oil. The brakes have been overhauled with new master cylinder repair kits and new pads.

It is a very original bike with all of the hard to find items (eg. front conical hub brake and Smiths rev counter etc. ). It really wants for nothing and is ready to ride.
