Description

1964 Lambretta Cento J100Up for auction is my 1964 Lambretta Cento J100.  I've owned this Lambretta for 20 years now.  I acquired it as a barn find in rolling condition. not running. back in 1993 or there about.  It sat idle in my possession until 2002 when I finally got around to restoring it.  I pulled the engine and built a bench test stand to rebuild it.  Bearings. bushings. transmission. nbsp;carburetor. ignition. wiring. cables. upholstery. brakes. clutch. etc have all been gone through.  Anything that needed replacing was replaced at this time.  A new spider and layshaft were installed with new bearings.  A new ignition coil and complete wiring harness were installed.  All new cables - shifting. clutch. brake. and speedometer were also installed.  New Perelli tires front and rear.  Cosmetics included new legshield beading and floor protectors.  The body was stripped down and powder coated professionally at a local shop.  The seats were also reupholstered at this time.  In all the restoration took 2 years to complete.  Much of this time was spent searching for parts or waiting for backorders to fill.  Since completing the restoration in 2004. I've maintained and registered the scooter annually. putting roughly 800 miles on it in total (and using only 8 gallons of gas in the process - yes its rated at 104mpg).  Everything is currently in good operating condition and the scooter runs properly.  Head and taillights both work as does the horn (all electrics are 6V AC).  The scooter still has it's original speedometer and the odometer mileage is accurate.  The carburetor and exhaust are also originals and function properly.  The only thing I would recommend the new owner doing would be to clean the fuel tank as it has some oxidation forming inside.  The fuel line has an inline filter installed to keep the carb clean.  The blue side skirts could also use some rubber molding along their mounting edges to keep them from rattling. I just never rode with them and it never occurred to me until I fitted them for pictures.  The scooter is currently registered and insured in NYS as a class B limited use motorcycle. so test rides are possible. Along with the scooter you will be receiving all of the documentation shown as well as some digital documents.  These include some information on the history of Lambretta and the Cento line specifically. as well as all my receipts from the restoration.  I'm also including a small box of misc spare parts as shown.  The rear rack was originally installed on the scooter when I acquired and will be included as well.  The scooter will be sold with a current NYS transferable registration and a bill of sale.  No titles are required or exist for this vintage in NYS. I'm selling this for two reasons:1. ) I recently purchase a Triumph Tiger Cub and don't have time for both. 2. ) The 100cc Cento is not the best fit for where I live in the country.  The top speed is 47mph with the wind at you back. down hill.  This means my 20min commute on 55mph roads takes me an hour each way. time I don't have.  It would be much more at home in the city. Please note: there are a few minor dings on the body. after all it is 60 years old.  Powdercoating also doesn't allow for bondo. so there's no hiding small imperfections like painting. but it is a much more durable coating. and in my opinion. perfect for this application. As far as shipping's concerned. I'm willing to deliver it locally in Upstate NY for $1. 50 per loaded mile. weather dependent.  I'd consider anything Syracuse-Buffalo-Corning within the local range.  I can also deliver it to a local freight terminal. but ultimately any shipping arrangements are the buyers responsibility.  Please inquire and make arrangements with me before bidding. Down payment via PayPal required within 48 hours of auction close.  Remainder due prior to pickup / shipping via certified bank check or cash only.  All shipping fees must be prepaid by purchaser.  Registration will be signed over upon receiving payment in full.
