Description

1972 Chaparral T-172 Bullet 4 H. P. minibike is an off-road minibike similar to a Rupp. Steens. or Speedway and has no title. never did. It's made for off-road. yard. trail. or camp use only. Mileage is unknown. no speedometer. It has a 4 H. P. Tecumseh pull-start engine. with a Commet torque converter. centrifugal clutch drive. no gear shifting. This is a very rare first year model minibike from the 1972 Chaparral line. and although they made thier 80cc & 100cc enduro minicycles into the mid-late 1970's. they only made actual pull-start minibikes during the 1972 & 1973 model years. I have seen pictures & ads of this T-172 model. but this is the only one that I've ever run across available for sale or otherwise. This little cycle does start easy and runs & rides very well. While this bike is nice. I can assume that there are parts of it that are not original (such as the tank). I am not an expert so I cannot claim this bike is completely original but it is a very nice example of early 70's mini bike manufacturing! In the next few paragraphs I will do my best to describe the good and the bad. Front End:The handle bars are nice and straight and the switches are all in tact. The throttle. brake and kill switch all function as you would expect. The front number plate has a few dents in it but in overall good shape. The forks are not pitted and do not leak. The front brake appears to be in good shape. The front rim is very clean and straight. The front tire is in great shape. The front fender is nice and straight and has minor scraps and scuffs but has no dents or bends. Engine:The engine starts easily with the new pull rope and runs great! Alot of power in this little machine! A recent tune up included new plug. carburetor cleaned and air filter cleaned. The motor is clean and appears stock. The STOCK exhaust is intact but does have some surface rust. Body:The gas tank has no dents and is in outstanding condition. The inside of the tank is nice and clean. The seat foam is in great shape and the seat cover has no tears or rips. The rear fender is in excellent condition with no dents. scrapes or breakage. All rubber for the foot pegs are in good shape. The frame appears straight with no obvious damage or abuse.  Rear End:The rear rim is straight and very clean. The rear tire is in great condition. The rear drum brake works well. The chain guard is in overall great condition. The rear shocks are in great shape and have minor surface rust.  Overall. the bike is complete and ready to be ridden or restored! I have tried my best to explain the bike in detail but please let me know if you have any questions prior to bidding! I will do my best to answer them as quickly as possible.

This bike is a great candidate for restoration! The rarity and completeness of this Chaparral is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the right buyer!

Please look at the pictures closely and ask any questions prior to bidding.
