READ THE EXPLANATION AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE. Today it is very hard to source a rare machine like this. especially when it is in a nice running and riding condition. Mr. P. van der Lely started a car-factory in the Dutch city of Den Haag (The Hague) in the year 1900. but soon decided to switch over to manufacture special bicycles and motorized-carriers. which activity was continued until the moment that business ended in year 1979. The vehicle that is listed now is basically the motorized version of the original nr. 4 trike that was introduced in the year 1909 (see image).

This trike is in a very clean and original condition and is only showing ultra-minor traces of use and age. which is to my idea perfectly acceptable after 55 years. It has been in a antique motorcycle collection for many years. but has been road-insured for the last number of years as the previous owner and his wife really loved to ride it occasionally.

Now it has landed with me and knowing that it is still insured for use on public roads. I've decided to take it out for a ride earlier today and was in the fortunate position that my wife Ingrid volunteered to go in the front seat during this ride.

. It was that the temperature was pretty low. as otherwise we would have continued our trip for many hours more. as the vehicle is remarkable easy to control for the rider (me) and most comfortable for the very happy front passenger (my wife Ingrid). who told me that it was pretty sensational to do sight-seeing with such a level of freedom.

I am very sure that this is the first Lely trike that is on offer on eBay. com and I'm also certain that this is the only one on offer worldwide. I am a very active classic m?ˆ™cycle dealer since the year 1979. where over all these years this is the second* Lely trike that I have been able to get hold of (*the first one was a bakery-trike that was equipped with the same engine).

This trike has never been road-registered and comes with an official European certificate of origin (which states the make. model. year of manufacture. displacement. weight etc. ) and I will provide the buyer an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I?ˆ™ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here. which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride.

  -On this listing I?ˆ™m offering a special (fully sealed) crate. careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US Cfs as close as possible to you at my expense.  Please note; In case the bike needs to be shipped to another destination than the US. please ask whether I can offer you such a deal as well before placing a bid (mostly this is not a problem. but then it?ˆ™s always better to make sure).  Furthermore. when you want to receive some better photo's of the bike/shipping. or want to recieve more information about this item. just let me know.   -Additional information to this listing;Like can be seen. the bike has after 55 years traces of use and age (patina).   I only offer shipping by sea. where of course we can advise you on forehand about the process of importing the machine into your country.   Like can be read in the link. nbsp;this antique bike is because of its age and displacement exempt from US import-duty and EPA regulations; https://help. cbp. gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/278/~/importing-classic-or-antique-vehicles-%2F-cars-for-personal-use

The crate will safely sail in a sealed container and the shipment is fully insured for eventual damage/loss (see images).

I accept payments through PayPal.

In previous listings I've received many times the same question; "how are you able to offer a motorcycle without any reserve and free shipping??" Where also a few times has been suggested; ?ˆ?Is this a scam??"

It is always a kind of sad experience whenever hearing that my best intentions are reason for any negative opinions or thoughts.

 Thus about how this is possible. . basically very simple;

I am a classic motorcycle dealer since the year 1979 and over the last three decades my main business Investment-Bikes has made nice and rare motorcycles available to customers all over the world. for which activity I have over the years only used one single shipping-company* (*that now has more than 80 years of experience).

 For reason that I'm having shipments on a constant/weekly base. I buy at the beginning of each year a big amount of shipping-volume against a huge discount (which enables me to ship at Very low cost but on the same go have high quality shipments).

When counting to this that by experience I?ˆ™ve learned that a serious bike will always attract a serious customer. which person is also willing to pay a fairly correct price. then this is how I?ˆ™m able to make such offers. make money for a living and have a satisfied customer.

Before listing a bike with no-reserve and free shipping. I of course always keep in mind that on a (for me) unfortunate day I can loose a little money on it. but then of course that?ˆ™s just life (and on the other hand the advantage for the buyer!)

I always pack the bikes myself. only use certified crates plus new packing-materials and deliver the crated machines in person at the Antwerp warehouse of the shipping-company (see images).
