Kawasaki KLF 400 4x4 Quad

This is an auction for a Kawasaki KLF 400 4x4 Quad bike. age unknown.  The quad needs attention or can be broken for spares. It is owned by the shooting syndicate who run a small shoot on my farm.  The man in charge has no computer skills whatsoever so I am selling it on his behalf as they have been given a very good deal on a newer one and I want it out of my shed.  They have owned it for a couple of years. previous to that it was used on another shoot.  It has no documents with it and is not road legal.  The mileometer reads 02379 although I cannot be sure of it's accuracy.  The Quad has not really been used all that much since it has been on our farm. perhaps an average of three times a month. It starts really well. the gearbox is reasonably smooth considering it is manual and pretty old.  There is a reverse gear and five forward gears which are called SL. . . and 4.  The engine. however does not sound great and needs attention.  I got our farm mechanic (who is admittedly not a Kawasaki quad bike specialist) to have a look at it.  He said the engine 'sounded metallic' and recommended that it was looked at by an expert.  He wasn't able to tell whether the engine had a major or minor problem - if you bid on it please bear this in mind. it runs but not well.  The plastic bodywork is in pretty good order considering its age. it has steel front and rear racks which again are in good condition.  The steering is fine without too much obvious play and the tyres still have a bit of wear left in them.  It has a towbar with a standard 50mm ball fitting on it. As I want it out of my yard and the syndicate just want to get some money to put toward their new quad we are offering it at a stupidly low ?1 starting price with NO RESERVE to make sure it is sold.  Please don't ask if there is a 'Buy it now' or cash price - we are going to let the auction run it's course and we will be happy with whatever we get. Collection only from our farm in North Bucks and we require cash only on collection. no cheques. credit cards. paypal etc.
