I am selling this 1957 Motobecane D45S French motorbike project. The D45 was the biggest selling bike in France in the 1940s and 50s. It was the French equivalent of the BSA Bantam. It features a 125cc side valve fourstroke engine and three speed gearbox.
This bike came to me recently as part of a barn clearance south of Bordeaux. It is missing the rear shock absorbers and piston/cylinder. There will be other bits but if you look closely at the photos you will see that it is in very clean and tidy condition. The paintwork is original and really very tidy. The parts that are missing are easy to find both new and second hand in France via Chambrier freres website. There is also a set of chrome crash bars in good condition. Both wheels are in good condition but obviously need fitting. This bike could easily be restored or is a valuable source of spare parts.
There is no log book with the bike but i will supply a French cession de vehicle certificate and a full receipt in French and English to assist with registering in the UK.
Please note that this bike is at present in the town of Chabris in the Indre department (36) of Central France. For a price of ?50 i can arrange delivery to the Worthing area on the south coast of the UK. Other delivery destinations in the UK are available but please email me for a price. Alternatively you are welcome to come to France to collect the bike and i will offer the winning bidder one nights free accommodation in our B&B. Payment is by cleared sterling cheque or bank transfer if you are having the bike delivered or by cash on collection if you are coming to collect the bike from Worthing or France.
Any questions please email me or call from the UK on 00 33 254051245.
