I am selling what i consider to be one of the ugliest bikes ever built. Will make a great workshop ornament/talking point but thats about it. If you want something that nobody else has got this could be for you! Would make a lovely garden ornament although for some reason my girlfriend wants it out of her garden! Terrot was one of the largest and best known bike builders in France who built some fine machines over the years. This was not their finest hour. As a part of history i suppose it has some curiosity value and will probably be the only one in the UK.
It is a 1958 Terrot EDL Fleuron 125 Luxe. If this is the luxe version just imagine how good the standard one must look. It bears a striking simialarity to the Ariel leader of the same period. It came to me as part of a large barn clearance in the Bordeaux area. Never seen one before and hope i never see another! It is missing a number of parts including the large and stylish side panel. the exhaust and the speedo. The seat is not attached and is in poor condition. Worst of all the OHV four stroke engine is seized from standing. The gearbox also seems to be either jammed or seized. After doing an internet search in France i can only find 3 for sale all of which are in lovely condition so it might yield some valuable spares for someone restoring one. I suppose it is restorable but i wouldnt think it was worth bothering as a perfect example is only about ?1000.
I hope i havent over described the bike as i wouldnt want anyone to think they were buying an easy project. It would need loads of work and is a large and substantial lump of a bike and very heavy for a 125. I wouldn`t think they are a very quick bike with only 125cc to drag it along. There is no log book with the bike but the manufacturers plaque is in place showing the frame number and i will provide a French cession de vehicle certificate should anyone want to register it in the UK.
Please note that the bike is at present in the town of Chabris in the Indre (36) department of central France. For a price of ?50 i can arrange delivery to the Worthing area on the Sussex coast during the first week of January. Other destinations in the UK are available but please email me for a price. Alternatively you are welcome to come to France to collect the bike and i will offer the winning bidder one nights free accommodation in our B&B.
I do not ship to Portugal. Greece or the United states!!
Payment is by cleared sterling cheque or bank transfer if you are having the bike delivered or cash on collection if you a collecting from Worthing or France. Any questions please email or call from the UK on 0033 254051245.
