Italian Motorscooter 1963 Allstate for Sears/Roebuck and Co.USA

This is a 1963 Allstate motor scooter that was made in Genoa Italy for the Allstate corporation to be sold by Sears Roebuck and Co. The two-cycle engine is not locked up and cranks easily but won't start. It ran well in 1973;the last year that it was ridden . I bought another bike and parked the scooter in my garage where it has remained out of the weather for the last 40 years. There is no "rust through" on the body;however. it does have some surface rust and needs restoration to bring it back to the condition that it was in when it was made 1963. It has a 3 speed transmission with the gear shifter being on the left handlebar assembly with the clutch lever. The front brake lever is on the right handlebar assembly and the rear brake is on the right foot rest as the picture shows. The key to the handlebar lock was lost somewhere along the way but can easily be opened by a locksmith who can also make another set of keys for it. This would be a great project bike and one you will be proud of when you join the local scooter club.
