Trike, austin 1300, auto, registered. requires some work, poss swap for boat

For sale is my 1300cc metro trike. It will require a bit of work to get ready for road. but has been in use. the last MOT expired may 2014 and had no advisories.

It is a two seater. based on a Honda off road trike and a metro front subframe with engine/gearbox unit.

There has been a lot of work done on this trike as can hopefully be seen in the photos. The front end has been modified to take a wolfrace style car alloy. it incorporates the original bike brake. but there is a disc on the other side should the new owner want to graft on a calliper. The rear wheels have a secondary hub machined to fit the metro hub to allow the fitting of matching rear wheels.   An auxiliary calliper has been fitted to the rear disc to provide the handbrake. Fitted with towbar. There are also custom lights on it.

Work that I know is required: The gear cable has been renewed but has not been clamped so it is a bit wishy washy selecting gear. This will need to be fixed more securely as at present there is no inhibitor switch so it can be started in gear. not a good idea. The brake pedal could do with repositioning as it is far to upright. The rear mudguard struts were cut off to get it in the van when it as delivered to me. I have roughly welded them together. but they will need checking. grinding down and repainting. may need rewelding. Seat needs fixing.  Needs speedo fitting. nbsp;supplied. needs damper fitting. supplied.  Battery box needs attention.

There are bound to be bits I have missed but over all. it is not a great amount.

The trike is on a Q plate but having spoken to insurance companies. these days it makes no difference. The original vehicle appears to be 1997 with the modification done in 2001.

please note: I have put in the chance to place an offer. I have also built and ridden trikes since the mid 80's and know the value of a trike that is registered. In view of this I wont even entertain stupid offers. the log book on its own is worth lots if it is a genuine trike. Remember these days you cant just get a reliant v5 and build a v8 trike you will lose it. This trike is 100% registered so no sva etc
