Description

With regret. I am selling my 1955 Peugeot s57 project scootI have had all the parts together for this project for two years now and not had the time to get on with itTime to pass it on as a whole to someone with the time and skills to make this a realityInformation on the project can be seen on the vespa smallframes forum here: http://vespasmallframeforum. proboards. com/thread/15453/1955-peugeot-s57-projectmore of the included parts can also be seen on the above link. I imported this lovely scoot from France. disassembled - the previous owner was planning a full restoration before I bought her. My intention was to restore the scoot but with a change of powerplant to a late 1990's Yamaha Dt125R watercooled engine. I am including all the parts I have amassed for this conversion in the sale and will try to list them all belowSale includes:1955 S57 bike complete but in parts Inc original engine. Spare set of s57 forks (for speedfight conversion)1 complete dt125R engine (donor for parts)1 part complete dt125r bottom end (low mileage)1 brand new old stock dt125r crankset of brand new old stock dt125r engine casingsJollymoto tz125 exhaustDt125r Ignition module (cdi)Brand New Dt125r powervalve servoRefinished Dt125r engine covers3x New Heidenau tyresExtra set of s57 wheel rimsSpare dt125r CarburettorBrand New Clauss studios s57 rubber floor mat & front rubbersNew Front and rear suspension rubbers2 Peugeot speedfight front forks (linkage type)Spare s57 instrument panelDt125r chain (new)Yamaha r6 cooling fans (nearly new)dt125r wiring schematicsI intended to do the following before restoring the bodywork to its former glory:Fit dt125r engine. with radiator/fans (there is room to do this under the body. while retaining the stock lookConvert the spare set of s57 forks to run the lower half of the speedfight forks. giving improved suspension and a disk brakeFit modern guages into the spare "dash panel"Have fun riding a classic scoot with more modern performance but still with the two stroke feelingOffered for sale at a fraction of what the whole lot cost me to bring together. I have all the paperwork including "carte grise" from the frenchman I purchased it from. To register this in the UK. you will simply need to insure the bike using the chassis number alone (allstyles insurance will do this). then contact the dvla who will register it with an age related UK plate. This can all be done with the bike still incomplete. With a pre1960 vehicle. you no longer require an MOT. tax is obviously free. once the scoot is up an running. due to its age there is also no need for any form of inspection. meaning the conversion to Yamaha would not be questioned. This is a project for someone with time and skills but the parts are pretty much all there. I am sure I will have missed somethings off this list but will update as I remember.  Any questions please get in touch as I will be happy to discuss further. Cheers. Tom
