Description

Welcome to my auction of this pretty little Peugeot P50E BMA (bicyclette moteur auxilliaire). I have listed it as a 1932 bike as this is the newest it can be. but it may be as early as 1930. The frame number is 70357 which will identify the year via a Peugeot owners club site.

It was rescued from a barn some ten years ago in the Nantes region of the Pays de Loire. Some work was carried out including preparing the tank for painting and soldering the stand. Apart from that it is as found. The is a coating of surface corrosion  but no actual rust at all. All the metal work id sound. Apart from consumables like cables it is complete. The engine turns over fine with good compression. This model is a single speed with clutch. Obviously without the engine running I cant tell the condition of the clutch.

The saddle is a nice period one in lovely condition. The exhaust pipe and silencer are new and the carps tail chrome box is correct for the bike and in very good condition. The tyres are ok and stay inflated.   Lights were an option on these bikes and this bike is fitted with an aftermarket headlamp from the 30`s in good condition.

If you are looking for a straightforward winter project this might be for you. These are nice little bikes to work on and once restored look lovely. It will also be quite rare in the UK.

As these bikes never had to be registered in France until after the war there is no log book with the bike. I will supply the bike with a French cession de vehicle certificate and full receipt in French and English to help with registering in the UK. This also proves that the bike has come from within Europe and as such there is no duty or VAT payable.

Please note that this bike is at present in the town of Chabris in  the Indre department central France. For a price of £50 I can arrange delivery to the Worthing area a few days after the end of the auction. It can also be collected from the Kempton Park auto jumble on October 25th for the same price. Other delivery destinations are available but please email me for a price. You are also welcome to come to France to collect the bike and I will offer the winning bidder one nights free accommodation in our B&B.

Payment is by cleared sterling cheque if you are having the bike delivered or by cash on collection if you are coming to collect it.

Please note that the bike is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Any questions please email me or call from the UK on 00 33 254051245.
