Description

Peugeot P32 100cc or 125cc from around 1939 from the information that I can find. the spec of these seems to vary greatly around that age and information seems difficult to find. This is a barn find from 3 or 4 years ago (along with a Bantam and a Wellbike) (both sold) that I bought from an old Gent who assured me that the engine had been running until he took off the magneto and carb to fit to another bike. This is the French Gendarme dodger 100/125cc version of the 50cc moped that required no licence or road tax built by Peugeot to flout the law. Its a single cylinder 2 stroke with twin fishtail pipes. kickstart (the pedals are false) 3 speed hand gearchange with bar mounted clutch lever. The engine kicks over freely. has compression . the clutch lever moves freely and all 3 gears select. the barrel. piston and head appear newer than the rest of the head and a modern NGK plug is fitted. Its 90% there. obvious missing parts are. Magneto. carb and air filter. seat. lights. speedo and control cables. For a bike 70 years old its in amazing condition with very little rust damage. the tank appears to be chromed from original and the wheels are a sand colour. I must admit to having no real knowledge of this type of bike other than found on internet searches and am more than happy for any advice or information. It will disassemble quite easily (I brought it home in the boot of an Audi) so a trailer or van is not required. Cash on collection works for me. thanks for looking and I hope it appeals to someone to restore it.
