1975 Rare Puch Sport 2/3 MV50 Moped Motorbike. Only 980 miles and no reserve!!!

Good Points

1975 Puch MV50 Moped with matching frame and engine numbers.

2 speed. According to the data book for this bike it is the Sport 2/3 model which is even rarer!

Complete with V5C document and only 3 owners from new.  

Registered 1975. The mileage on this moped is 980 which is believed to be genuine. The speedometer is fully functioning and I also have the original service warranty booklet which has the registration number in it and no service stamps! The moped was stored for many years before the latest owner acquired it to form part of a collection. The moped is very original and orange in colour

The Puch has many original features including. hand pump. puch stamped toolkit pouch. saddle bag. and additonal documentation including service and maintenance manuals.

The moped starts easily and the lights and controls operate as expected. The drive chain was slack so I have adjusted this and the clutch was not fully working possibly due to the bike being stood for 39 years.  

Poor Points

I have done about 5 miles on the bike test riding it and the bike does pull. but not as well as I would expect. I suspect that this is due to a spring in the clutch which due to lack of use has lost tension. I haven't worked on it because I do not currently have time and I am not sure if the winning bidder put it in a museum or use it.  

The chrome on the mudguards is pitted in places

Summary

This is a very rare collectable classic moped and would suit adding to a museum or for the serious collector to show. Could be used on the road (once the possible clutch issue is resolved) if you want to turn heads.

An excellent investment opportunity mopeds such as this are becoming harder to find.

Puch Mopeds were known for there quality and this is a good example. Notice the strength of the frame and mudguards allowing this Puch to have a dual seat fitted which could be used for a passenger or to crouch into sports position! Ideal to go on the back of a camper van!
