1996 ROYAL ENFIELD BULLET 500cc BLACK

With great reluctance I am listing my 96 Enfield 500 single. I am selling because I cannot afford to be peter pan for any longer. This bike is great. it will open up and widen any smile to the mouths maximum potential without paying for surgery. The bike was originally a 1996 Enfield Bullet 500cc single. It has been modified slightly. not all by myself. The owner before me changed the frame of the bike. extending the swing arm by about 8 inches giving that really drag look that the bike has.  The wheels and tyres are new. the tyres are next to new avons.  The saddle is a custom one off. The leather is norfolk goat skin beaten and shaped.  The Petrol tank is from an NSU quickly. it has been been welded tight and treated internally to ensure there are no holes or leaks supporting the external the patina. rustic. oily rag look.  The engine hasn't seen much change at all part from the way it breaths both in and out.  The exhaust has been shortened obviously with a small baffle at the end that. if you didn't know was there you wouldn't. it has been screwed in place from underneath so it isn't as loud as it looks. and when you have your helmet on it sounds all the more mellow. how ever the sound of it idling or being revved or ridden is beautiful. nbsp;stiffens the hairs on the back of the neck especially when your riding it. wind up your sleeves. country roads. great fun.  The bell mouth carb is an after market addition and could do with tuning a little as it croaks a little when your pushing it top end in fourth but until you get there which I don't usually need to. is fine.  The handle bars are similar to that of the cafe racer style and if I kept the bike I think that's what I'd change next maybe for a straight set to change the silhouette of the bike.  The headlamp is from a land rover and suits the bike perfectly.  The battery and electrics are held in a fabricated box which sits under the seat next to the speedo and conceals the wires and horn nicely.  The end caps of this box are wrapped in the same goat hide that the seat is and I also have some spare to wrap the hand grips in but haven't seen to it yet.  The bike is taxed for another 6 months and the day ride MOT is due on the 16th of this month which I will obviously be putting through before the new owner signs the docs. Recently the kick start arm started to slip so I have changed the kick start pawl. when doing this I discovered a tiny crack in the inner cover of the gearbox which I have since replaced with a new one. following on from the same repair I then replaced the gasket between the gearbox and internal casing.  I renewed the oil in the gearbox when completed also. Enjoy looking at my bike and please come forward if you fancy purchasing a smile provoking piece of machinery.   I need £2500 or closest to. to brake even.
