Description

I'm advertising this on behalf of my father-in-law who is not very computer literate. The following are his words and my husbands contact details. who knows the motorcycle well and has ridden it on occasions. including trips with me as pillion to Brittany and numerous Vintage Motorcycle Club runs. Rarer than the proverbial hens teeth. only 133 'Interceptor MKII' engined Metisse's were ever built. it is believed fewer than 90 now survive. nbsp;some eventually made their way to America but many ended up in the Antipodes.  This particular one was manufactured in 1971 (hence it is free to tax) but languished in a showroom before being bought and finally registered in 1973.  Owned. restored. ridden & maintained for almost 20 years by knowledgeable Royal Enfield enthusiast. Having just MOT'd it for another 12 months (no advisories) I realise it has completed a mere thousand miles since 2009. I turned 84 years of age this Summer and know it is now high time this thoroughbred is enjoyed. hopefully more often. by a new owner. It will come with a large history file. including photographic documentation of restoration and all parts to return (an easy job) to original spec. nbsp;and additional spares including tank and seat unit and ace bars. Rear sets are by owner with Tarozzi pegs. It is fitted with Boyer ignition. the latest (and expensive!) serrated clutch and 'stay-up' ethanol resistant carb' floats. The nickel frame has been powder coated grey for protection and my preferred aesthetics.  Incidentally. this exceptionally designed frame was soon to house Honda's 750 SOHC engine & the extremely powerful Kawasaki Z900 DOHC unit which gives you an idea of how wonderful a combination the 736cc Interceptor engine is within it. It was also the first British motorcycle to have Lockheed hydraulic disc braking front and back. Please feel free to email or phone any questions you have. Tel: 07584079464The motorcycle will not be released until all monies paid by cash/cheque/bankers draft and cleared into my account. Happy Bidding !!!
