Description

For sale is my personal riding motorcycle of the last couple years.  It is a made in India  2004 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 model Sixty-5.  It has 1. 68 original miles on it. I put in a new battery last summer.  It is electric or kick start and it has a 5 speed transmission.  The Enfield model Sixty-5 was a special edition 500 Bullet that was a retro 1960's styling and the five in Sixty-5 was to denote the change in 2004 to the five speed transmissions.  This bike starts easy with the electric start button or kick starter.  Runs excellent.  ready to go anywhere. No dings dents or serious scratches.  Chrome is excellent. This bike has several added on Royal Enfield factory accessories like the solo seat and the pillion pad.  Has the throatier sport muffler. Upgraded bullet turn signals. Added factory side stand as well as the original center stand. Also added on are factory real leather saddle bags. I also added the front fender number plate.  There is a relatively large box of original factory parts that go with the bike. These include original tail light and turn signals.  original factory seat. Several new oil filters etc.   Most people who sell a Royal Enfield bike neglect to tell you that these bikes have a propensity to wet sump after sitting for extended periods of time. This bike is no different.  If it sits for a couple weeks or so it will wet sump and what that means is it simply smokes for a couple minutes when you first start it up. After it's running for a while when it pumps most of the oil into the oil reservoir then it quits smoking completely.  One way to minimize the wet sumping to kick the bike over until it's at top dead center which minimizes the oil draining down into the engine lower crank case.   When the bike is ridden often it doesn't smoke on start up.  Just being honest and up front about these Royal Enfield Bullets having a propensity to wet. ump if they sit for an extended period of time. Similar to other English bikes like the older Triumphs. BSA's. Nortons.  Matchless etc. Not to mention that the older Harley's have a real propensity to wet sump.  It has NO ill effects on the bike at all.  With just over 1600 miles the tires have excellent tread front and rear.  Like I said this is my personal bike that I rode for the last couple years.  It accelerates well for a 500cc and it handles well in traffic or on windy roads.  This bike is too nice to put in indoor cold storage here in the cold Michigan winters and I'm running out of room to store things so I'm thinning down the herd a little.  You are welcome to come here and inspect the bike in person before you place a bid on the bike.  I'm 67 years old and I have taken very good care of this motorcycle.  never abused. never off road. always stored inside etc. If you're looking for a like new old style British  one lunger "thumper" type bike then this is it.  At first glance the color of the bike looks black. especially in the pictures.  but the color is a dark green metallic. NO RESERVE.  high bidder will get the motorcycle. Quick background on the Royal Enfield Bullets made in India.  In 1955 the Indian army (in India) contacted Royal Enfield Motorycles in England telling them they wanted to order like 600 motorcycles for the Indian Army and that they had plans to order another 800 Bullet motorcycles in 1956.  So Royal Enfiled in England says (and I"m paraphrasing) " why don't we just set up a factory in India and make our Royal Enfiled Bullets there instead of building them here in England and shipping them all the way to India ?".  Which is exactly what they did.  That factory in India has been making Royal Enfield motorcycles ever since. In the early 1960's Royal Enfield in England went down the tubes and the Indian factory bought the rights to continue to make their bikes in India.  So these bikes are not reproductions.  they are still the original bikes that have been made all along since the mid 1950's.  Parts are very easy to get and very reasonable in price. I will not handle shipping or build a shipping crate etc. and I will not transport the bike to the new owner unless you live locally (within 25 miles of Brighton. Michigan). If the buyer wants the bike shipped then it is the buyers responsibility to handle all shipping arrangements. I will help what I can here on my end to assist the shipper in loading the bike up for transport.  I don't have a problem with the buyer paying cash when they come here to pick the bike up.  Bike must be paid in full within a week of auction end by either cash or pay pal.  I have a clear Michigan title in my name ready to sign over to the new owner.  Feel free to email me with any question you have about the motorcycle.
