Description

At 67 years of age and currently owning over 60 motorcycles it?ˆ™s time to ?ˆ?lighten the load?ˆ?. I plan on listing a few at a time until I get to a managable number (who knows what that might be). so feel free to ?ˆ?see my other items?ˆ?.

I am selling my 1969 Royal Enfield Interceptor Series II #1218. I am the third owner from new and this motorcycle has been totally restored after sitting for 25 plus years in a friend?ˆ™s barn. There is not a part on this motorcycle that hasn't been touched during the restoration process. There is NO Powder Coating on this motorcycle whatsoever. As you can see in the photographs. the frame and all Black parts were stripped. glass beaded. metal prepped and refinished in Dupont Black Chroma 1. The gas tank and fenders were restored and re-chromed by Ross Thompson in Canada. If you restore British Motorcycles and don?ˆ™t know who Ross is. you should. his work is flawless. There is over $2200. 00 in the gas tank and fenders alone. Every piece of chrome on the bike has either been replaced or re-chromed. The original gauges were restored by Mark Bohman. Stainless Steel Spokes and Nipples from Bucanan?ˆ™s. new rims and wheel bearings as well as a complete new exhaust system from Hitchcocks. Engine parts any many ancillary items from Hitchcocks also. Brakes were re-lined and arched to match the drum surfaces. The entire engine was rebuilt by a 40+ year British Motorcycle mechanic and personal friend. The list goes on and on. I have over $15. 00 invested in this restoration not including the purchase price of the motorcycle. The engine cases are original the mated pair with matching numbers.

I have ridden this motorcycle approximately 500 miles since the restoration was completed and most if not all of the ?ˆ?bugs?ˆ? have been sorted out. Naturally some bluing has occurred and moderately discolored the new header pipes. The motorcycle had its?ˆ™ initial run-in and tune done with the original header pipes installed to insure future bluing was kept to a minimum.

In an effort to avoid unnecessary emails. my reserve is $15. 00. There may be Series II's as good as this one out there. but I seriously doubt there are any better.

All shipping and related costs are the purchasers?ˆ™ responsibility. I will do everything in my power to work with the shipper of the purchasers?ˆ™ choice.

I strongly encourage personal inspection or inspection by the expert of purchasers choice and will make every effort to make the motorcycle available for inspection.
