For sale only because I fancy a change! If it doesn?t sell. I won?t be too worried. and will keep her and make a few more changes this winter!
I bought the bike over Christmas last year as a relatively standard Bullet 500. and stripped the bike down and rebuilt in the caf?© racer style. I've probably spent in excess of what I'm asking for the bike during the resto. which included:Custom-made tank and seat. which was professionally painted
New wheels and brakes. front and rear ? (original Enfield. not cheap repros)New tyres and tubesHitchcocks Rearsets (almost £300 worth!)Ace bars fittedCustom made stainless side coversChromed caf?© style mudguards and numberplate mountExide battery box with new batteryElectronic ignitionUprated Amal carb fitted (will have to check which model!)New silencer (straight thru!)Flip-up type petrol cap fitted.
?¦and probably much more that I?ve forgotten about! As you can see. the bike really does look the part now and gets comments (always good!) wherever I go. Obviously it?s not a long distance bike and I?ve basically just used it to pootle around town for the past year or so. which it?s perfect for! It?s very nimble and light on its feet. and despite having Ace bars. the turning circle is very good.
The engine generally starts first or second kick. and doesn?t really smoke at all! Sounds fantastic. It?s been regularly serviced whilst I?ve had it and I haven?t really had any mechanical issues whatsoever. Don?t expect it to be like a new Japanese bike. though ? these machines require TLC! The rearsets were from Hitchcocks and work well (don?t forget it?s a right-foot change!).
Obviously the bike isn?t immaculate. but you can see in the pictures that it really does clean up very well. Don?t come expecting it to be a showpiece. though! It?s MOTd until 21st January 2015. but won?t have any tax once the new owner collects. thanks to the recent DVLA changes. Please don't come and view the bike and offer silly money for it - like I said above. I think it's priced very reasonably and I don't NEED to sell it.
If I were to keep it. there are just very minor bits and bobs that want sorting. It?s missing the high-beam warning light. for instance. I?d probably be putting a bit more padding in the seat. too. if I?m honest!
Now for the boring eBay bit?¦
--------------------------------
Please take your time looking through the photos ? I am not trying to hide anything from prospective buyers. like the vast majority of people on eBay these days. Just check my feedback. and you?ll see that I?m a completely honest seller. Do remember that there is no substitute for coming to see the bike yourself. I strongly recommend viewing the bike if you plan to buy. I've described it as well as I can. It is sold as seen with no warranty because this is a private sale. and it must be inspected before you hand over any money. All funds must be cleared before the bike can be taken away. UK BIDDERS ONLY. PLEASE! I can potentially arrange delivery at extra cost. but again. the bike must be inspected before you pay me. PAYPAL PAYMENT IS NOT ACCEPTED.
