Description

Category B write off Suzuki Gsxr 750 T. 1996. Carburetted model. Under 16000 miles. Excellent mechanically.

For sale is my old school carburetted 1996 Suzuki Gsxr 750 T. I searched high and low for a good clean low mileage example and last year found this bike. I used it regularly in the summer and it had under 16000 miles on the clock. I an very particular about my vehicles and always over service them. The bike had been well looked after before I got it however in April 2014 when I got the bike I performed the following:

New Pirelli Angel tyres

New Motul 7100 fully synthetic oil and filter

New Suzuki air filter

New NGK spark plugs

All brakes fully stripped. new seals fitted and fresh Dot 5. 1 brake fluid installed.

New coolant with coolant flush.

Carburettors removed. pilot jets cleaned and rebalanced.

All cables lubed and linkeages lubed etc etc

The bike also had a new chain and sprockets fitted shortly before I got it.

The bike was aesthetically almost perfect with not a mark on it and mechanically spot on.

On October 1st 2014 the bike was stolen. The thieves wheeled the bike away and smashed up the ignition barrel which is now missing. As they could not start it they then took a hammer to the tank apparently to try and breach the fuel tank presumably to set fire to it. As they could not breach the tank they then tipped the bike into a ditch which is about 3 feet deep. The bike landed upside down breaking the fairing brace. top fairing. screen. ram air mounts and other items in that vicinity. The bike has been scratched on all panels as can be seen from the photos.

It was declared a category B from the insurers as the frame is damaged when the thieves broke off the steering lock. I bought the bike back off the insurers to turn it into a track bike as mechanically it was excellent.

As it is a category B it cannot go back on the road unless it is reframed. Frames are regularly on Ebay for a hundred quid or so.

It could also be exported or like I was planning to do. be turned into a track bike with a cheap race fairing and ignition switch. Or it could simply be broken for parts. The Engine has under 16000 miles on it and the gearbox is excellent. It had no mechanical faults when it was stolen.  I am now selling as it has sat in the garage since October last year and I don't have the time to mess around with it.

Please note:

I have the logbook which will be assigned to new owner and three keys for the bike.

I have no idea of every item that is broken on the bike. All I am going on is from what I can see. Please email with me with any questions. No timewasters thank you.
