Description

You are looking at a Suzuki RV90. I did not have the same childhood as you did. so I am willing to let this beast go so you can relive the one you had that included power sports and maybe even an RV90 of your own.  Or was it another kid in your neighborhood who had one and you thought you should have had one too?  Here is your chance.  I did have a wish for a minibike back then about 50 years ago.  This is cheaper than a red sports car for your mid-life crisis. I added a new carb. a new ignition switch. throttle cable. battery and some time.  It fired right up. I drove it around my neighbor hood and in some deep snow in my back yard.  So far I have noticed these things about it's operation and condition.  The 6 volt battery I installed is NOS. It had  been stored dry for a long time. I added acid and charged it about a year ago. When I tried it recently. it showed charged right away. That seemed wrong. In fact. it does not seem to have a charge at all. The lights do not come on. So. you may need a trip to Battery Plus.  I added a full load of the proper CCI two cycle oil. but I also poured in mixed 50 to 1 gas oil in case the auto oiler was off. It does run with some smoke. so my assumption is that the oiler is moving oil. You will have to see if the tank goes down and then switch to straight gas.  The oil tank has a defective filler cap. It is in place. with a layer of plastic under it to hold the oil tight. On the carb is a stem that threads in and out to control the idle speed. While I was driving around. the engine started to idle faster twice. I stopped and slowed it down with the stem. I do not know if it will keep doing that. If it does. I suggest something like a wire or plastic tie to restrict it turning. I changed the transmission oil and put in 700 cc of official motorcycle gear oil. The remainder of the quart is included in the sale. The frame cover that says Suzuki is in place. but it has a crack in the plastic. The muffler shield has some missing screws holding it to the muffler.  The headlight is held in place with the official ring. but someone also placed some rigid foam around it.  The whole machine under the seat and under the side covers has a layer of grit and grime. Someone had fun with this machine. It was not a garage queen. The tires hold air and have good tread.  The kick start shows good compression resistance. I have not measured it with a compression gauge. I do not know the year it was make. The last year it was licensed is 1985.  I also do not have a title. I believe that in MI it is possible to get a new title in cases like this.   Please look at the pictures carefully and feel free to ask questions and to request more pictures or explanation. I recently learned about a very well built and capable welder for sale and would like to buy one to make repairs and improvements on my growing collection of minibikes.  Please buy this screamer and help me to get together a swarm of old school minibikes. When my grown children and I are making memories next spring. we will think fondly of you.  Thank you for your interest.
