When was the last time you saw a Dunstall GS750 for sale? GT750’s yes. GS1000’s yes occasionally. but GS750’s extremely rare. with there being only an estimated 50 kits ever sold. and how many of those remain now?

So here we have it. a real rarity the original 70’s Caf? Racer. its a nice original Dunstall GS750. It’s a genuine early model UK bike and registered on a ‘S’ plate and currently on SORN as its been off the road for a good few years. with only 9 previous owners in the last 37 years.

I put a charged battery and fresh fuel in the tank and after priming the carbs it started straight up. and runs extremely well. sounding gorgeous through its Harris exhaust. The clocks show 22000 miles. and I would estimate this to be correct. as it runs nice and smooth with nice slick gear changes and blowing no smoke etc.

Some of the original features. Genuine Dunstall bodykit and fairing. Dunstall rear sets. gear indicator works perfectly

I would class this as very good condition for its age. it has been repainted to a good standard at some time in the past. but the original bodywork looks very good with no damage or cracks. and has had the original Dunstall seat recovered too.

As you can see. the chrome is nice and presentable. with no sign of corrosion other than pitting marks on the original rims and on the base of the Koni dial-a-ride shocks. but these could all be re-chromed if you wanted to be picky. It has the original Suzuki key that fits the ignition and petrol cap.

Ok. so I can hear you saying. what are the bad points? In my opinion. there aren’t any really. just a couple of areas that need attention before mot’ing and use.

The choice is yours with this one. ride as is once MOT’d. or restore for really rare show bike.

My intention was to restore the bike but I have too many projects - the below conversation gives some idea of the bikes history;

> I had a phone call this morning from a chap who works at a motorcycle

> museum in Birmingham (I think). He was asking if the bike was still

> for sale. as he'd seen it for sale on ebay. Apparently there are old

> press photo's of WRY***S. which was the bike Dunstall used to show the

> 'new' kit for the Dunstall range and they have the then boss of Heron

> Suzuki and Steve Parrish which were in the MCN. I asked him if he .

?2450 sound expensive to you ?. see
