For sale is my 1978 Suzuki Beamish RL250 (this is the date it was sold to me as) I have also looked on the Beamish Owners website and it looks to me to be around 1978. I have included photos of the parts that are usually used for dating below

I bought the bike last year as a small project with the intention of re-living my youth and competing in trials again. but to be honest it doesn't hold the same appeal as road racing so I am selling it to fund another project

The previous owner claims to have had the top end rebuilt but I have no documents to back this up. it does however sound very nice and starts 2nd kick. it has had the tank re-sprayed to a very high quality

So far I have: Rebuilt the front forks Fit new tyres Adjusted the head bearings Made my own side stand as this was missing as it previously was a sidecar outfit Fit a kill switch as it did not have one Put a new front number plate on it Applied for and have the V5 in my name Put the bike through an MOT last Saturday. advised on loose head bearings. I'll nip them up. and slightly loose spoke in rear wheel

So far I have only ridden it down the road and back. but everything works as it should

I will try and honestly list everything I would do to it if I was keeping it Repair the swingarm mounting points. they have been done and everything seems OK. just could be better if you know what I mean? Fit an original side stand. mine is OK but was a quick job out of what I had handy Find an original seat as current one is not Replace the rear shocks as they are mis-matched. but go up and down OK As I said it is in very good condition for its age. it is built to be competed on and that is what it has been used for so it won't win best of show but should give years of fun

It was registered on the road in 1987 but is unfortunately on a Q plate

Collection will only be entertained at sensible hours from Burnley. not midnight as you could not get the trailer in time and got lost on the way (this really has happened)

It is cash on collection. and I cannot deliver it as I just don't have the time
