For years I have been collecting first generation Suzuki GSX-R 750 and 1100's. I bought my first one in May of 1985 from a Suzuki dealership in Corpus Christie Tx. My Father was fishing buddies with the dealerships owner and the owner of the shop received a pre-USA release white and blue GSX-R 750 from Suzuki USA to show on his showroom floor. The GSX-R's were all the rage in every magazine that had anything to do with motorcycles for a year before they came out on the US market and when the shop owner received his first GSX-R he offered to sell it to my Dad because his shop was geared more toward off road and marine machines. My Dad asked me if I wanted it . I said that I did so my Dad bought it over the phone with his American Express card and then my Dad and I took a trip from San Antonio to Corpus Christie to pick the bike up. it was the first one ever sold to the public in Texas and one of the first 5 sold to the public in the United States. From then on I was hooked. I rode the bike home to San Antonio and Suzuki GSX-R's were in my blood. Over the next 25 years I collected MANY GSX-R's and some were awesome and others not so good. Wanting to keep only the best of the best I bought over 45 GSX-R's and kept only the best and sold the rest and ended up with 7 really nice examples which I kept in my game room for years. Over the last four years I started selling my collection off as I am getting ready to retire and as of two years ago I was down to two bikes. the first one my Dad bought for me and this 1100. As I sold them I critiqued each bike and sold them by what overall condition they were in. I sold the ones that I thought were in the worst condition (even though they were all in excellent condition) until I was left with my original 750 my Dad bought for me and this 1987 GSX-R 1100. I sold my original 750 last year keeping this 1100 because it was the cream of the crop. So now up for auction is the last bike in my collection. A ONE OWNER. GARAGE KEPT UNDER A FACTORY SUZUKI GSX-R COVER. NEVER BEEN DOWN OR WRECKED. BLUE ON WHITE SUZUKI GSX-R 1100 WITH ORIGINAL PAINT. FACTORY STEERING STABILIZER. CLEAN TANK. NEW TIRES AND IS 100% ORIGINAL (except for the header. pipe and Corbin seat) and JUST 18. 51 ORIGINAL MILES ON THE CLOCK. I had the bike completely serviced . new tires installed and the carbs cleaned at The Fun Center Suzuki dealership in Durango Colorado a few years ago and rode it for 230 miles (still on the tripmeter) and then put it back in my game room. A couple of years went by and I was transferred back to Texas with my job so I brought the bike back to Texas and put it in my climate controlled garage under a Factory Suzuki GSX-R cover (which comes with the bike when sold) and there it sat until now. The bike now needs a new battery and it will probably need the carbs at least tuned even though I drained all the gas. Folks this is FOR SURE ONE OF THE BEST LOW MILEAGE ORIGINAL 1987 SUZUKI GSX-R 1100'S IN EXISTENCE. The bike has a clear title in hand and I hope that the new owner will continue caring for this bike as I have. it deserves it. If you have been following these bikes you know that original examples of these bikes increase in value every year and that they are now considered antique sports bikes and since it was THE bike to own (and still is) the GSX-R's increase in value more than any other Japanese sport bike. THIS BIKE IS NOT CHEAP BUT IT IS A GREAT INVESTMENT. This bike has always been adult owned . maintained at the dealership and has never been on it's side. Please refer to the pictures and they will speak for themselves. Remember. motorcycles are only original once and after that they are just another motorcycle. THE ORIGINAL SEAT. SEAT COWL AND EXHAUST COME WITH THE BIKE IF BOUGHT WITH THE "BUY IT NOW" FEATURE. When I last rode the bike it ran like a new one. better probably but my hopes are that someone will collect the bike and not ride it.
