PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE PIC's & DESCRIPTION. This old 1978 SUZUKI GS550 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to machinery than ours.

PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES. As you can see this bike has got a few bits missing. a few bits damaged/broken. a few bits rusty/corroded. a few bits non standard & a few bits are very nice indeed.

The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims. good hubs & brake plates disc. caliper & working master cylinder. Forks & yokes look straight. Mudguards are solid &  tidy except for a small dent on the front.

Tail light assy is good (rear lens broken)as is the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look good. Fuel tank & side panel are faded but tank  is squeaky clean inside and has just minor marks & scratches in the original paint.

Exhaust system is original & solid but with some minor dents. The engine is cosmetically quite clean. it turns over nicely off the kick starter & displays compression. When we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it a few snorts of Ether it actually fired even without the carbs fitted.

The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We HAVE NOT got the certificate of title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system. REGISTRATION1. You need to get the bike MOT’d. 2. You need to prove the year of manufacture in writing. Phone Suzuki UKs customer support on 0500 011959 (press opt 2 & opt 2 again) with the Model type. frame & engine Numbers. they will organize an application for a dating letter – there is a charge for this service. 3. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number. 4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA. who will charge you ?55 for the 1st registration & the current amount for the road tax. 5. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number.
