A strong characteristic of the Suzuki GS1000G is the "Shaft Drive" which propels this beautiful machine forward. Back in the day Suzuki spend a lot of money and time developing a shaft drive that wasn't floored like so many other shaft driven bikes of it's time. In fact. a review back in the 80's by a Swedish bike magazine reported that " it is actually the first shaft driven motorcycle we have ridden that feels like it was chain driven. Up for auction is this awesome 1981 Suzuki GS 1000 G with only 18. 96 original miles. This awesome machine has a clear clean title from the state of Kansas. The current owner has owned since 1984. Recently this Suzuki has had the tank cleaned. resealed and had the petcock rebuilt. The carburetors were removed and soaked in cleaner then has four new carb kits installed along with new rubber diaphragms and synchronized. Also done to the bike are new spark plugs. Cam chain adjusted and a new air filter. Serviced from front to back the owner installed new master cylinders and caliper kits. with new brake pads. The brakes work as new. To make this Suzuki ride like new the owner also installed both new tires front and rear. With the exception of the gas gauge everything on the bike (horn. lights and switches) all work. This is a very smooth bike to ride with the shaft drive. All the painted parts were removed and repainted to the original jet black with gold stripes. it looks fantastic and is show quality!
