Description

Suzuki 1973 TC100. Factory original bike with great vintage patina. 3. 99 original miles. This is the model that uses a dual-range four speed transmission with the selector on the side of the engine. The engine runs and shifts very well and the clutch works as it should. The oil injector also works – no mixing of oil and gas and the bike doesn’t smoke beyond the normal 2T smoke once warmed up. Lights (except high beam) and electrical components work great (new horn that is loud!). Street legal and titled in Iowa. Rotary valve engine has tons of power for a 100cc bike and makes for a great neighborhood cruiser and trail rider. I’ve invested over $800 in parts in this bike since purchasing in December of 2013. I just have too many bikes and some must go – my loss is your gain. The good: engine has been upgraded with NOS cylinder/piston (standard bore) along with a TS 100 cylinder head (a much better design than the dual plug stock head). Carburetor was gone through and all wear parts & gaskets were replaced. Bike has new front brake shoes and brake/clutch cables. Wheels were rebuilt with new parts including IRC dual sport tires/tubes. sprockets/chain. wheel bearings. seals & rear hub dampers. Front fork was disassembled. cleaned and new fork seals. O-rings & fluid installed along with new covers. Other new parts include NOS fuel petcock. NOS oil tank and a new seat cover. Upgrades include low-mileage 1976 TS 100 shocks & K&N air filter. Tuned up with new points. condenser. spark plug cap & plug. Exhaust baffle replaced with very hard to find NOS part (original had been cut up) and pipe was cleaned & painted. Side covers are in good shape with no cracks or broken pieces. NOS steel foot pegs installed. The frame is solid with original paint on most of it (swing arm & chain guard was re-painted). The not so good: normal wear and tear of a 40+ year old bike. The front chrome fender is cracked. many of the rubber bushings will need replaced and chrome finish on the fenders. lower fork legs. tail light & headlight is scratched and pitted in spots. The chrome wheels actually look pretty good but they have some scratches and pitting in places. Spokes are fair to good but none are bent or broken. The fuel tank is very solid but has corrosion inside (no flaking) and some small dents/scratches. Electrical wire loom covers are cracked in spots around steering head area and only high beam works. Paint on tank and side covers is worn and faded but looks cool if you like the barn find look. The tool kit is missing. Handlebars are slightly bent. The turn signal switch is missing (the TC didn't have turn signals in 1973). This bike is a very good base for riding as is or for restoration. I have all of the original take-off parts and a spare engine that will be included with the bike. Buyer must arrange for their own shipping of the motorcycle but I will be happy to work with the buyer on shipping logistics. Bike can be stored for up to 2 weeks until picked up. Every one of the bikes was a much better motorcycle when sold than when I purchased them – even the new ones. Please check out my other Honda XR. MR 175. CR 125.
