1976 Suzuki RM125 original condition bike.
Update-I found the original head, lutch basket, ew Gaskets and other engine parts. I will include these with the bike also. I added another photo of these parts.
Update- I found the repair manual dated 1979. That is included also-see photo.
I bought thisin the Oakland/San Leandro area many years ago and I cant confirm this but the guy I bought it from said Brad Lackey worked on it for what its worth.
It is in nearly all original condition. It hasthe original paint fuel tank, un faded fenders, eat cover, ront number plate, grips, lever covers, evers with the rubber ends, tc., /p>
Plastic side covers are New Old Stock Suzuki. Both haveafew scratches.
New Old Stock Suzuki clutch plates.
It sat many years unusedwith a chunk missing outof the serial number side of the bottom end. I bought a bottom end from a 77 RM125 with a bad connecting rod bearing and used the serial number side of the crankcase to repair the original bottom end. The remainder of the 77 bottom end is included as well as the original broken bottom end half with the chunk missing.
The bike wont idle but runs excellent wide open.I don't know if it has had performancecarb, ylinder or enginework done to it. The power is all in the top end and revs to the moon. You need a lot of space to hold it wide and take it through all the gears. It pulls extremely hard when held wide open.I pulled it out of storage and rode it today. It seems that sometimes if you are just putting around and you try to softly shift up, ometimesit misses the next gear up, ometimes it doesn't,but if I take it out and hold it wide open and speed shift up solidly, t shifts fine, ould just be me. I have rode it a handful of times for 10 plus years since I got it and it always starts up with the choke on for a few minutes, feather the throttle since it wont idle, hen I take off and it runs excellent. I always run it out of gas before I store it.
10 plus years ago I installed a aftermarket DG performance aluminum head and when I pulled the headI noticed one of the studs for the head turned when I was tightening it. I have never had a problem with it but thought I would mention it. If I were to pull the cylinder again, would fix that stud.
Comes with a really nice trick aftermarket DG aluminum swingarm from a Suzuki PE175 which measures 7 inches at the pivot and is 1 1/2 inches longer than stock.
Comes withset of aftermarket S&W strokershocks that have rusty shafts and need to be restored. They came off a 77 RM125 that had a Thor aftermarket aluminum swingarm.
Ihave the original head somewhere I will include if I can find it-UPDATE- Found it and a bunch of other engine parts and NOS Suzuki gaskets and seals-I will include them in the deal-see updated photo.
Also included is a Vintage Bell Moto Star helmet that has a 1970 decal inside and is a 7 1/8 size but needs new foam insideand has a NOS JT Suzukivisor. I wasplanning to race this bike in the vintage races.
Seat stillfeels good.
Front forks are rebuilt with new seals and feel good.
Front wheel is a Akront and has the original Akront decal. Front tire is a IRC andmay be the original.Front wheel has a spoke missing and a very slight wobble but was trued by a legendary motorcycle wheel truer in the Hayward area and hetrued it the best he could.
Has 428 chain and sprockets.
New rear tire.
Comes with a NOS in the box set ofK & L piston rings .50 over that read 79-80 RM125-I think theyare the same as a 76-I bought them many years agofor this bike. I never saw a need to install them since the bike ran so well.
When rolling in neutral, iththe engine off thebike rolls easily with no drag.Thisequals more horsepower at the rear wheel.
Bike rides, rakesand handles good and has excellent power. It is light and nimble and easy to throw around.
Clear title in my name and is on a non-operational status which means no back fees andno hasslesto transfer title.
This is anice bike and I spent a lot of time and money on itfixing it up while I was employed. Unemployment forces sale or I would keep it.
