Description

For sale a classic 1978 Suzuki GS400 in excellent original, ime capsule condition and very low miles.

This bike is very, ery clean, specially considering its age. Look at the pictures – it was obviously never left out in the weather. Runs great, otor runs very smoothly thanks to the counterbalance shaft these little GSs are equipped with. Rides, rakes and shifts as it should. Clutch is firm, mooth and engages exactly like it should. Chrome is in fantastic condition with no rust or pitting anywhere. Original paint is also in outstanding condition – no dents, cratches or chips anywhere. Inside of tank looks new. The mufflers are solid throughout. The digital gear shift indicator on the instrument panel functions perfectly as does the instrument backlighting. Everything feels tight and right. The front forks, owever, eem a little too soft so I would replace the seals and fork oil if I were the new owner. Cosmetically the only real flaws I note are some of the factory pin striping has peeled in a few places, nd I did replace the side cover decals with replicas as the originals had lifted off around the edges. The polished engine cases look great also, ut there is some minor peeling of the factory clear coat evident in a few places on the cases. The underside of the seat pan has some surface rust that is typical of Japanese bikes of this era, ut the seat itself is in overall excellent condition. Tires have plenty of tread but are older replacements that I would change for peace of mind if I were riding the bike regularly.

I have not tried to present this as a flawless bike, ut I think you would be hard pressed to find a nicer unrestored early GS400 than this one. It is likely one of the nicest survivor GS400s on the planet – and is certainly the nicest unrestored vintage Suzuki I have ever seen in person. This model seems to be quite a bit rarer than the early 4-cylinder GSs which appear pretty regularly on ebay. I have seen a few other GS400s on ebay, ut none anywhere near as nice and original as this one. In any case, will let the pictures do the talking. Some of the work I have done to the bike since acquiring it last year:

· New Battery

· New Spark Plugs

· Oil & Filter changed using factory filter and gaskets

· New air filter and air filter oil

· Clutch Cable Lubed and adjusted

· Drive chain lubed and adjusted

Winning bidder should arrange to have the bike picked up in a timely manner, ut I won't fuss about an extra week or two if that helps facilitate the sale. Sale will include clear title in my name, int original owner’s manual, actory service manual and intact and complete factory toolkit. I will mail the owner's manual and service manual to the winning bidder at my cost. I also have a nice condition, eriod correct rear cargo rack that came with bike when I bought it which I will throw in for an extra $40 including shipping should the winning bidder want it.

Bike is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. I will assist your shipper with pick-up however I can. Sorry, o international sales except to Canada. If you have a less than 10 feedback score, ou must contact me before bidding or risk having your bid cancelled. Your winning high bid is a contract, o please, o not bid if you don’t have the intent or means to purchase this motorcycle.
