AS NEW I would describe this bike but then that would not be good enough !!!!!
THIS BIKE IS BETTER THAN NEW FOLLOWING 10 YEARS OF COLLECTING THE NOS PARTS AND FINALLY A TWO YEAR RESTORATION TO THE FINEST DETAILS:
1. CHROME...... NOSPIPES WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH WITH MINOR FLAWS IN THE CHROME SO I HAD THEM ALL RECHROMED
2. PAINT ........DONE BY PRECISION MOTORCYCLE PAINTING IN SOUTH BEND, NDIANA FACTORY TAPED STRIPS WERE PAINTED INTO THE PAINT ...NO TAPE
3 RIMS........ORDERED TWO SEPARATE "NOS" THAT HAD 8 MM LARGE PRINT IN THE SIDES OF THE RIMS AND WERE MADE IN CHINA...........SORRY, T DID NOT COME THIS WAY SO I RECHROMED THE ORIGINAL RIMS AND USED THEM....LOOK AT A LOT OF JAPANESE SHOW BIKES AND YOU WILL MOST LIKELY SEE THE CHINA REPROS.
4. GAUGES.....DONE BY THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD I COULD FIND THAT HAD THE MACHINING TO TAKE THEM APART AND DO THEM RIGHT.........DONE ON THE ISLAND OF BARBADOS OFF SOUTH AMERICA. THE BIKE ORIGINALLY HAD 9500 MILES ON IT BUT WHEN GAUGES REDONE HAD THE MILEGE SET BACK TO ZERO
When I bought the bike I figured "9500 miles. surely the motor is good "....this was a mistake bigtime..........even though the miles were low the motor was in terrible shape...required a complete rebuild using one over pistons and the cylinders were machined. All the crank seals were totally disintegrated and a spiral spring from one had gotten loose and deeply abraded one of the cylinders. The rolling frame / motor was sent to Minneapolis where it stayed 15 months getting the proper rebuild. Now the motor runs like new with minimal burned oil through the pipes just like they did where they came out of the crate.
5. SPOKES......NO CADMIUM TO OXIDIZE AND RUST ANYMORE....STAINLESS STEEL SPOKES WERE CUSTOM MADE IN CALIFORNIA AND INSTALLED ON THE ORIGINAL RECHROMED WHEELS
6. TIRES............ ORIGINAL NOS DUNLOP LIKE THE ORIGINAL WITH NO DRY ROT WHAT SO EVER..........TRY TO FIND THESE NOW ( I HAVE ANOTHER SET OF THESE IF A RESTORER INTERESTED.....$600.00)
7. FRAME......POWDERED COATED AFTER INSPECTION TO BE SURE NO DEFECTS OR BROKEN WELDS
8. BRAKE DISCS.......NOS BUT I STILL HAD THEM MACHINED DOWN ONE TEN THOUSANDTHS OF AN INCH TO LOOK BETTER (A DROP OF BRAKE FLUID IS ON THE DISC AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES...DID NOT TAKE TIME TO WIPE THEM OFF)
9. HANDLE BAR CONTROLS.....NOS
10. MIRRORS......NEW CONDITION ORIGINALS WITH THE "S" FOR "SUZUKI" ON THE BACK LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE !!!
11. SEAT.....THIS IS A NEW REPRODUCTION......I COULD NOT FIND AN EXACT TYPE PATTERN WITH THE PRINT ON THE BACK ETC
12. LENSES......ALL NEW OR NOS........ORIGINAL SIGNAL LENSES BREAK VERY EASILY
13. HEADLIGHT......ORIGINAL
14. HANDLE BARS ......NOS AND RECHROMED
15. BOLTS ......NOS HEAD BOLTS ON THE MOTOR....MOST OF THE OTHER BOLTS ARE REPLATED ORIGINALS WITH THE "S" WHERE THEY WERE ORIGINALLY...SEE RIGHT SIDE OF FRAME
16. MOTOR......BUFFED TO A MIRROR FINISH
17. FORKS.....BUFFED TO A MIRROR FINISH
18. FENDERS ....BOTH NOS / CORRECT WITH THE FENDER BRACES AS SHOWN USING FOUR SMALL BOLTS BOLTED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE FENDER (many replacements used an incorrrect fender for the 1974 GT without the outside brace usually made for another year)
19. CABLES......ALL NEW
20 HYDRAULIC FRONT LINES......ALL NEW
Beware !....these can look new as I restored the originals but then find they are blocked in side by breakdown of the inside of the lines...........
21. BRAKES.......NEW PADS IN FRONT AND LINERS IN THE REAR
22. RADIATOR HOSES .......EXACTLY LIKE ORIGINALS....not the smooth finish you typically see in replacements...take a close look
23. RADIATOR GUARD......NOS .........NEW THERMOSTAT OF COURSE
24. TANK.......LOOKS LIKE NEW INSIDE WITH SEALING
THE BIKE IS TUNED TO PERFECTION AND STARTS QUICKLY. CARBURETORS ARE BALANCED AND A TECHNICIAN CERTIFIED BY HONDA AND HARLEY DAVIDSON HAS GONE THROUGH THE BIKE. ROAD TESTED WITH 16 MILES ON BIKE.
THE BIKE IS BEAUTIFUL AS YOU CAN SEE. THE PAINT IS GORGEOUS !
THIS BIKE HAS BEEN TAKEN TWICE (2012 AND 2015 AT PIGEON FORGE LAST MONTH) TO THE VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE CLUB OF AMERICA NATIONAL MEET AND HAS WON FIRST PLACE IN THE 1970-1980 SUZUKI CLASS BOTH TIMES
Now you can own the bike and win as many shows as you want to enter or just ride the bike
Good enough for any museum if that would be your interest
VERY POSSIBLY THE NICEST GT 750 IN THE WORLD
