Hello and welcome to the advertisement for my much loved and pampered GSX-R 750K5 (registered 2006/06) 20th Anniversary Ltd edition.
I know the advert is long but it should tell you all the info you need. All pictures should be high resolution to aid viewing/zooming.
I?ve owned the bike from new and treated it like a princess for the moment I bought it. in fact I?ve probably spent more time cleaning it than riding it! The bike has never been dropped. scratched or banged. There have been no repairs to the bike whatsoever. I can?t say there are no marks on the bike as it?s done 17k miles but the stone chips are extremely minimal and there are no marks or scratches. I would compare the bike to a very well looked after 5k mile example and would've thought it?s one of the best. if not the best on the second hand market. It has an immaculate service history and has had the oil changed much more than needed. It has also has extra strong magnets fitted to the oil filter from new to catch any fines. HPI clear. Being the Anniversary edition it comes with the following additions from the factory;
Replica paintwork from the original 1985 GSX-R (Unmarked and in about as good condition as you will find)
Carbon effect front mudguard
Blue chain (still over 50% left on adjusters)
Tinted screen
Ltd edition stamped exhaust
Limited edition anniversary numbered plaque on the top yolk
2 limited edition keys
Iridium plugs (changed 4000 miles ago)
Uprated drilled and vented brake discs
Blue seats matching the paintwork
White frame sliders
I have added the following sensible extras;
Genuine Suzuki ??double bubble? tinted screen £60
META 357 TV2 alarm and immoboliser £300
Genuine Suzuki top yolk and tank protectors £45
NWS black GRP hugger £90
Front braided braked hoses £50 (fitted 2000 miles ago at the last service)
??HH? sintered front brake pads (still around 50% left)
Yoshimura Tri-oval end can £300 (sounds fantastic. deep but wont have the neighbours complaining)
Power commander £300
K&N air filter £60
Genuine Suzuki touring comfort seat £200
Tail tidy £40
Swing arm paddock bobbins
New Yuasa battery 18 months ago
I Hand polished the levers (brakes. clutch & gear) and the kick plates to a mirror finish. I prefer the standard look to after market.
Michelin Pilot power 2CT tyres (covered 2000 miles)
12V ??power adaptor? (cigarette charger) fitted used for Sat Nav abroad.
I also purchased a second damaged rear tail section from ebay so when I take the bike abroad I can load the panniers without worrying about what damage the bungees will do (and believe me when you the rear section (I?ve been abroad six times on this bike) you will understand how much this is needed).
ALL STANDARD PARTS HAVE BEEN KEPT AND ARE INCLUDED IN THE SALE AND THE FACTORY RECALL FOR THE FRONT MASTER CYLINDER HAS BEEN DONE WITH ALL DOCUMENTATION.
The bike comes with huge history and documents including Full service history. original bill of sale. alarm certificate. all MOTs. service receipts. owners manual. tool kit. original Anniversary brochure and more. You will not find one with more!!
A bit about why I?m selling the bike and how it?s been used and treated;
I?ve been taught from a young age to be mechanically sympathetic and look after my things. this is what has been done with this bike. After purchasing new I ran the bike in meticulously. I kept it below 5k rpm up to 600 miles and then gently added 1k rpm per 100 miles. At 1-1500rpm I was hitting the redline occasionally (if you read up on Japanese engines this needs to be done or the full power will never be released. I always ensure the bike is up to operating temperature (82 degrees) before revving above 4K rpm. The bike is always run on super unleaded and has only ever had 3 tanks of regular unleaded when I?ve been in the mountains in Spain and they haven?t had super. I had the bike rolling roaded before the power commander was fitted and it was producing 147. 2 BHP at the crank and 135. 1 BHP at the rear wheel. The technician doing the run said he?d never seen one produce so much power. It should have a few more with the power commander fitted. I put this down to the running in and super unleaded.
Whilst I can?t say honestly the bike hasn't seen any rain what I can say is that it has never been taken out in the rain in the UK. If I've been caught out the bike has always been washed and dried before putting away. I also use Scottoiler FS365 anti-corrosion. There is no corrosion whatsoever on the bike.
When I bought the bike I used it in the UK and literally spent more time cleaning it than riding it! To put this in context after every 200 miles I clean. degrease. re lubricate and wipe off excess lube from the chain. hence why after 17k miles there?s still over 50% left on the (original) chain adjustment! I took the bike to Spain and after riding over there I was done with the UK. I started using the bike virtually solely for Spain trips. After 3 years I stopped using the bike nearly altogether. I have the MOTs. service records and 2 & 3 year old children to testify why this happened! Now the children are a bit older I?ve been back to Spain last yr and this year. I got back from Spain on the 16th Sept and the fairings have been of. every inch of the bike cleaned polished and re-waxed?¦this includes the inside of the fairings. This was also done before I set off on the 7th Sept.
I had always planned to keep the bike forever. hoping one day it would become a collectors item. The K4/K5 is widely renounced as one of the best GSXR?s ever made and in these colours is looks and rides brilliantly. I bought a similar style bike last year and found the very occasional time I go out in the UK I now use that. I?ve decided as I get older I could do with more comfort getting to Europe (we?ve just covered 2250 miles in 9 days). With this in mind I?m looking for a Ducati Multi-Strada or Triumph tiger sport or explorer or BMW GS. If you have any of these and want to P/X get in touch (they must be in immaculate condition). Unfortunately I don?t have the room to keep all the bikes so she must go.
