1978 GS750 for sale

The seals on the front brake caliper were leaking last summer. The caliper was disassembled last fall, leaned, nd reassembled with genuine Suzuki seals, OS Suzuki brake piston and new EBC organic brake pads. The cylinder bore was very clean and in great shape. Fresh oil and filter. The bike has less than 500 miles on new tires and tubes. Battery is current as of two years ago and has been on a float charger.

This bike is very original and as far as I can tell, 00% stock, part from the wear items I mentioned above. It still has the original foam air filter element that should be replaced. If it will be ridden a lot it should have the brake lines replaced, ut they are functional as is. These are not expensive items, ut people might have opinions about whether these items should be upgraded aftermarket or stock so I left them for the buyer to decide.

The paint on the tank, ide covers and rear cowl is original and in excellent condition with just a bit of patina you would expect on a well-loved 38 year old bike. There are no dents in the tank. Chrome pipes are solid and chrome is in very good condition. There is a shallow dent on the top of the right muffler, ut no other dents that I can see. Chrome on wheels is excellent. Front forks have very little of the discoloration/oxidation you typically see on the aluminum fork lowers of these eight valve GS. The fork tubes look excellent. Turn signals have excellent chrome and are scratch/scuff free. Mirrors are scuff free. Engine cases are very nice, amage free and are free of leaks - a bit of the clearcoat is missing on the engine cases. The frame is straight and true,and paint on frame is very good. The bike runs and shifts well and all electrics work. Seat is excellent and rip free. Frame and engine numbers are correct for model-year (Suzuki did not match frame and engine numbers). Title matches frame and is clear.

Gauges look very good and clear. It does have a slow tach and speedometer but the odometer counts accurate miles. I believe the low miles to be accurate based on the overall condition and the fact that the bike hasn’t been molested in ANY other way. If you know this bike and older Japanese bikes in general, he slow to respond speedo and tach needles are typical and come from lubrication slowly drying up in the gauge over time. They can be serviced by a specialist but I’ve experienced themfreeing up by themselves if the bike isused fairly regularly.

There are always things to do with an old bike and it really becomes a question of when to stop. What you have here is an exceptionallynice base for a rider or to bring it up toconcours quality. This is an honest, riginal that has not been dandied up for sale.

Pictures are from the last nice day of the year in November 2015. Bike has been under cover in heated garage all winter and it looks like it has been treated very well in its history. I was told by the last owner that he purchased from the original owner. I’ve had several of these bikes and am very familiar with their quirks -this is the nicest I've had. I would like room in my garage for something else.
