Description

1980 Suzuki GS1100

This Suzuki GS1100E is the first year for this bike. The GS1100 was introduced in 1980. It was a directdescendantof the Suzuki GS750. The engine size increased to 1100 c.c.'s. Upon its' introduction, he bike received many accolades, ncluding "Cycle World's" Superbike of the Year 3 years in a row. 4 valves per cylinder, ouble overhead cams, lectronic ignition, ive-speed transmission, ox-section aluminum swingarm, ual disc brakes up front and single disc brake in the rear. Cycle Rider magazine ranked this bike 5th on its' list of the most significant motorcycles in the last 35 years. The performance was exceptional. 105 h.p., nbsp;0-60 in 4.3 seconds. 1/4 mile time of 11.39 seconds at 118.42 mph and a top speed of almost 140 mph.

The good the bad and the ugly of it's condition; I think the handlebars and mirrors are stock, ut I have never seen one with those still on it, o I am just guessing from internet photos. The bodywork is in good shape, o cracks or missing parts or dents that can be seen in the tank, ut it has all been repainted black. Even that hard to find headlight bucket/shroud isn't cracked at all. The tank is really clean inside except for the overspray from the repaint. The original exhaust has some surface rusting on the mufflers, ut no holes. There is surface rust on the front exhaust headers too as you can see. .I did not see any oil leakage from the engine. The front Dunlop tire is ok, he rear Qualifer is bald from putting all that horsepower down on the pavement. The bike has oxidation and rusty fasteners in many places. Both right side turn signals are broken, ut we have replacements here if you come to pick the bike up. The bike turns ove, ut I have not had it running. The front master cylinder does not work, ut the rear brakes work fine. The seat has been recovered nicely, ut not original and the seat pan underneath show alot of rust, ut it feels really solid. The fork seals are totally blown and will need replaced. It has an aftermarket ignition switch, e have an original if you want to replace it. The original key still works the gas cap and seat lock which both work very well.
