Description

1986 Suzuki GSXR 750 – Nut & Bolt Restoration – Full disclosure so please read in its entirety.

The cleanest and most correct 86” GSXR 750 around!

I have spent a year restoring this bike from the ground up and spared no expense!

Every part on this bike has been cleaned and refurbished or replaced with OEM direct parts! I have every Suzuki label from the parts put on to prove it along with all of the parts and maintenance receipts. Direct OEM new and NOS parts are VERY expensive for these bikes. I have over $12k invested in parts alone.

I am not expecting to get back my investment on this bike…..but that does not mean I am going to let it go for nothing! I did this as a love for these truly historic bikes. I raced these bikes for Suzuki while in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in California in the mid 80s. I saw this bike and knew it needed to be restored and kept for others to enjoy through the years!

The Bike

BODY:

The body took 6 months to finish and ALL of the fairing and cowl parts are the original to the bike!

All stress cracks and chips were EPOXY joined and heat cured NO FILLER!

The paint is OEM EXACT and perfectly done.

The paint and body work was $3800.

The decal set is aftermarket.

You can no longer get all of the original decals from Suzuki.

The decals are from the most well know replicator (RDdecals.com) and are better than the originals because they will not fade or peal like the originals….they look absolutely perfect and correct.

The seat currently on the bike to include the solo seat pad is black and newly recovered.

I will also include the correct newly recovered red seat and red solo pad with the bike.

I left all the original ignition, ank cap and keyed devices. I refurbished most to new condition but left the ignition and tank cap alone.

All of the turn signals are new and OEM down to the light bulbs!

The mirrors are also new and OEM.

Engine:

The complete engine was taken apart, leaned and restored by the number 1 Suzuki dealer in the Eastern US.

I am happy to give you their name and number and you are more than welcome to go over everything that was done to the bike.

In summary the valves have been adjusted, he carbs synced, ll worn parts replaced and the engine has been dyno-ed for perfect performance.

Every ounce of fluid on the bike has been updated with Synthetic oil – Forks, ngine, lutch, rakes, tc.

There is currently a period correct Vance & Hines exhaust on the bike. I put it on for performance and sound .

I will also include a OEM exhaust with the bike. It is not the original and these are VERY hard to come by. I was able to get this one from a Ducati Executive that took it of f his new GSXR 750 back in the day with zero miles on it and stuck it up in his attic for 29 years!

The battery box has been powder coated. They are notorious for rusting out.

The bike has a brand new battery in it.

The tank petcock is new and OEM.

Front End:

The original windshield was scratched and had cracks.

It was replaced with an OEM windshield that was over $400. It has all of the original OEM markings molded directly into the part.

The instrument cluster surround was replaced with an OEM part, he entire light and instrument cluster bracket was powder coated along with the top of the triple tree (notorious for being destroyed by keys – I have an exact fit carbon fiber piece 3M taped to it just to protect it which can easily be removed with no harm to the part.

The entire light harness was replaced new with an OEM NEW harness.

I installed Progressive aftermarket springs but purchased OEM direct replacement and they will come with the Bike.

The front forks have been black powder coated for looks. These forks are notorious for tarnishing and taking abuse. Plus we used to get the Olin black shocks for racing (which are extinct you can no longer get them. I put Olin stickers on them to replicate and it really sets off the gold calipers and gold shock adjusters.

I have the original lower fork tubes to put this bike back to perfect OEM condition – they will come with the bike so it can easily go back to stock! They have been bead blasted and re-anodized back to factory spec.

I also put on a freshly painted 1987 front fender I think it looks better.

The original fender was also painted and will come with the bike if you want it year correct.

The front brake rotors were cleaned; still have much life on them and the centers have been ceramic coated black to look new and never rust like the original paint did.

The front brake calipers have been ceramic coated gold and have been completely rebuilt with all OEM parts to include new seals, ew pistons, ins, leeder valves and new EBC brake pads.

The front brake and clutch master cylinder have been rebuilt.

The front shock adjusters were ceramic coated gold and look amazing.

The front tire is new and is an Avon AM26 110/80/18.

Even the valve stems were replaced with new OEM parts.

The front rim on this bike has been powder coated black and it looks fantastic. All of the bearings are new OEM.

All of the triple tree bearings are also new OEM.

Rear End:

The rear tire is brand new and an Avon AM26 150/70/18.

Even the valve stems were replaced with new OEM parts.

The rear swing arm on these bikes are notorious for tarnishing and getting beat up. To match the rest of the theme on this bike I have powder coated it black along with the rear piece of the chin tensioners.

I have the original swingarm. It has been bead blasted and re-anodized and it looks brand new! It will be included with the bike so that if you wish to bring it back to stock you can.

The rear shock has been replaced with a Nitron racing shock. It is brand new and $700.

The original OEM rear shock has been completely refurbished and restored and will come with the bike.

The kick stand had to be replaced to accommodate the new rear shock.

I have the original kickstand and it will come with the bike!

The rear brake rotor were cleaned; still has much life on it and the center has been ceramic coated black to look new and never rust like the original paint did.

The rear brake caliper has been ceramic coated gold and has been completely rebuilt with all OEM parts to include new seals, ew pistons, ins, leeder valves and new EBC brake pads.

The rear master cylinder has been rebuilt.

The entire rear fender and license plate light and assembly are OEM new.

Misc.

Most of the parts I have taken off this bike have been kept and are bagged and tagged.

The original tool kit is included with the bike.

I MAY, AY include an impossible to find NOS Valve cover and Engine Head if the bike goes for a really good price. Otherwise I will hold on to them for future builds. I had to comb the world to get these parts and they are very rare.

I also have an original shop manual for this bike to include the assembly manual when the bike first arrived at the dealer. I will include this with the bike along with numerous period magazines, rochures and memorabilia.

I will also include a set of brand new K&N carb pods with the sale.

A $1000 non refundable deposit is due right when the auction ends. The remaining balance is to be overnighted in the form of a Bank Cashiers Check.

This bike is local pickup only! It is your responsibility to arrange shipping. The bike will not be packaged but all included parts will bubble wrapped and boxed.

This bike is the most perfectly restored 1986 Suzuki GSXR out there. Don’t miss the opportunity to own a legend and a piece of history.

Please email me if you have any questions.
