Up for auction is my original 1963 Suzuki T10 250 twin 2-stroke. This bike is a true survivor with original paint and only 4101 miles. Amazing that it stayed preserved all these years. Bike does have a Michigan title that is NOT in my name. It is signed off by the person on the title and shows a selling price of $5.00, t has no notary stamp or other markings on the title. Title shows the bike as a 1965, owever that's impossible the t10 was replaced by a t20 in 1965, o that was the year this bike was first titled.
Bike fires right up and the engine sounds very nice with no abnormal piston slap or other noises. Clutch pulls easily, hrottle is smooth and easy to twist. Clutch operates perfect with no slippage. Bike shifts perfectly into all 4 gears, nd it rides really nice and smooth. Sounds really good too. Has a new battery, owever it's smaller that what it should have, o the electric start barely works. Battery also needed a small piece of wood addedfor a tighter fit. (I ordered the incorrect battery) With a charger hooked up the electric start also works perfectly. Has a brand new NOS voltage regulator/starter solenoid as well. All the lights work, eadlight high and low, ail/brake light, eutral light. This model never had turn signals, nd it still does not. There is a broken switch on the left handlebar switch, owever I'm not sure what the switch actually controlled.
The paint is original and shines very nicely. Has the typical light fading, iving it a nice original patina look. Below the right side cover, he paint was touched in along with a portion of the swingarm at the same area. Had battery acid staining in those areas. Paint matches fairly well. chrome is nice and bright, owever does have some rust forming under the chrome at areas.Chrome on the wheels is great, pokes have some rust, ot heavy though. Seat cover is new, nd I also replaced the foam, oam is not an original mold, had to cut it myself, o the seat itself is not show quality, ut great for a rider. Gas tank is clean and rust free inside, nd has no coating either. Petcock is a brand new reproduction with new fuel lines, arbs cleaned, nd were never gummed up.
The tires look to be original and hold air, owever they are dry rotting and should be replaced if you intend to ride the bike on the road. Has a light oil leak at the left side engine cover, nd will drip a drop or two in a few days. Exhaust pipes also leak some goo where the headpipes meet the mufflers, hose too drip a few drops after the bike has been ridden. Original airbox is for some reason missing. I added small pod filters that fit perfect. I am trying to be as honest as possible, o make sure there are no surprises for the high bidder. This is a great bike, nd with a little bit of work will be a great and reliable rider. I personally have never seen one besides this one, o I'm sure it will be popular at your local biker breakfast.
