SUZUKI GSXR 400RR (SP EDITION) GK76A *ADJUSTABLE FORKS & CUSTOM STEEL HEADERS*

Please only bid if you accept this. Thank you. ** OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY! **Up for sale is my 1991 Suzuki GSXR 400RR GK76A. This is the Sports Production (SP) model. which comes with fully adjustable front suspension and the close-ratio gearbox. I currently have the standard GSXR 400 front suspension fitted. but the sale does include the adjustable forks as pictured. I also have a set of stainless steel Sandy Bike headers (also pictured). which I paid £230 for. These are also included in the sale. Rear paddock stand is not included. I have owned the bike for almost four years and used it regularly until June 2014. when it developed an intermittent problem - the bike turns over freely but only fires up occasionally. I would say that 9/10 times it does not fire up and start. However. on the occasions that it does start up. it remains running until you turn the bike off. To diagnose the problem. I gave the bicycle to JC Motorcycles in July (one of their technicians is an ex Suzuki employee). I first suspected it may be a carb problem due to the age of the bike. so I asked them to strip all the carbs down and to ultrasonically clean them. However. the problem still remained. New plugs were fitted. spark is constant and good. voltage checked on all coils. compression on all cylinders checked. and the fuel line was checked. All of these parts were in good working order. I have been told that it is very likely to be an intermittent electrical problem. The CDI unit is a common problem on these bikes. so it may need a new one of them. or it may be a a problem somewhere in the loom. I cannot justify spending anymore money on this bike so I have decided to put it up for sale and to let somebody else work on getting it running. It would not take a lot to get it running as I have already spent quite a bit of money trouble shooting the most common problems - compression. fuel. and spark are all good: the three vital factors that get an engine to fire up. This would make a fantastic bike once up and running. The bike has since run out of its MOT but I see no reason why it would not pass its next one - brakes. suspension. forks. tyres. and all other vital components are in very good condition. As the bike is coming up to 25 years old. please expect there to be wear and tear with a bike of this age. the most noticeable being two small cracks on the left side of the bike (see 2nd to last photo). There is also slight discolouration on the tank (see last photo). Aside from this. the fairings and the rest of the bike are in very good condition as you can see from the photos. I would highly recommend coming to view the bike so that you know what you are bidding one. I know that this is not always possible due to time and distance. so any bids are binding and you ARE bidding to buy.  I have the full V5 log book. previous MOT certificates and a few invoices showing services and work carried out on the bike. Bike is also advertised elsewhere so I have the right to remove this listing at any time. I will be gutted to see the bike go. having owned it for close to four years. but the time has come to part ways with it.
