Reluctantly for sale I have my trusty GSXR1000 K2.
I've owned her since December 2008 (when I sent the reg document off) and know every single mile she has covered from new as the 2 previous owners are both very good friends of mine. Sadly the 1st owner is no longer with us but the 2nd lives just over the road.
I bought her with about 6000 miles on the clock and have since put on another 54000. so needless to say she has got quite high mileage of 60169. Don't let this put you off though as almost all the mileage has been added from using her as my work bike. teaching CBTs. DAS and advanced riding. She has led a very pampered life being cleaned religiously every week (in bad weather daily) and has been serviced regularly. having her oil changed every 3 months regardless of mileage.
Due to a change in career. I gave up instructing in August 2013 and since then she has been on the road just once which was to take her for her MOT and she covered the grand total of 4 miles on the way home.
She runs fantastically. handles like a dream and pulls like a train. If you're looking then you'll know just how good the K2 model was and still is. with a torque curve that many new big capacity sports bike cannot match. She has NEVER been raced. thrashed or crashed however there are a couple of marks which are shown in the photos. The tank has a small ding and the right side panel is scuffed from me stupidly not putting the paddock stand on correctly and dropping her down the tumble dryer and onto the garage floor and the seat unit has a scuff on it from her being carried in a van after a break down (see explanation below) and the metal clasp of the tie down strap rubbing on her. Needless to say the air was blue when I got her back!!
The only other major thing is she has a new engine due to her losing compression on number 3 cylinder. I have her original engine in the garage as the intention was to rebuild and refit it but I didn't get round to it and then gave up instructing and using her. The 2nd engine has been fitted for about 4 years and has probably covered around about 10000 miles. It was purchased from Yorkshire Engine Supplies. not from a breakers or from the back of a garage. If you're not sure or haven't heard of him. have a look on his website. He has a worldwide reputation for building and preparing engines so needless to say this wasn't a cheap £500 replacement. Once fitted the engine was checked and set up by Damian at Daytuner in Harrogate.
There's nothing much else I can say. I will be sorry to see her go but I just don't ride her anymore. (I have a Ducati 999 as my toy and race a CBR1000 rr7 fireblade so she's sitting gathering dust!!)
If you require any further information about her please don't hesitate to contact me.
This is a UK only sale. and is for collection only (unless discussed with me first)
