Suzuki Bandit GSF400 not 600

Here is my Bandit GSF400 GK7AA

I acquired it in 2011 from a mate who was the first UK owner but have only put 1. 00 miles on it.

The bike was imported and first registered in the UK May 2001. declared as manufactured in 1995 but looks to me like a 1996 model/year having the newer seat shape and handlebars. The speedometer has been mechanically adapted to read in miles. the bike is fully UK legal and was imported by a specialist importer.

After import it was used little. but dropped a couple of times at low speed. It was then laid up in 2005 until I acquired it. To get the bike on the road. I rebuilt the brakes calipers with pads seals & pistons. front and rear. as they had seized. Replaced the tyres. fitted a new battery. new fork seals and changed the engine oil and filter.  I fitted used Supertrap exhaust with black headers.   After cleaning out the cobwebs she started easily.

The original full set of pipes is available with the bike. as is a spare pair of wheels and workshop manual (on CD. not book)

Good points: Engine is super. starts easily and revs freely. no smoke. Gears all work. brakes and handles well. The odometer currently reads 14. 13  some of which is in km so the bike has done very few miles for its age. Supertrap sounds nice and releases a little extra power! All the new bits (see above). Generally a very pretty bike that looks good. rides nicely and still turns heads!

Bad points: Having been laid up for years there's corrosion showing on a lot of bolt heads. under some of the laquer on alloy parts etc.  All superficial. nothing bad. The front EBC brake discs had superficial rust which I cleaned off but they still look patchy. see pics. this is just cosmetic because the brakes work fine.  Regular use would probably clean them up! The engine cases are scraped. see pics. The Supertap can has some dents. Sometimes it's hard to find neutral when the engine is hot. oh. and the fuel gauge doesn't work.

I've really enjoyed this little bike but just don't ride it often enough (it's a second bike) so I'm putting it up for sale. I've been open and honest with the description. contact me via Ebay messaging with questions or call me on 07976 180562. The bike is in Bristol if you would like to view.
