Description

Hi Welcome to my listing for this lovely Custom  Old School Suzuki GS1000 1980 Hardtail  Chop. Over the last few months I got carried away and bought to many bikes and still have one coming from America :-) So some need to go. A little tlc needed.  Below is from the previous sellers listing.    Ok. for sale is my  1980 GS1000 Hardtail chop in Candy Apple Red (video link at bottom).  The frame is an Uncle Bunt hardtail with Yamaha and Suzuki running gear and a Suzuki GS1000 engine (1980).  It has 11 inch polished slab yokes.  Twin 4 inch headlights and 2 1/2 inch speedo and tacho.  Custom made 4 into 2 pipes. both to one side.  £200 custom leather seat bought from the US (I was planning to spring the seat). Couple of quick bullet points:  Discs and pads are in good condition.  Tyres are in good condition.  Braded hoses.  Straight bars.  Billet grips.  Pear tank with two fillers - one blanked off.  Fuel off/on tap - there is no vaccum.  Mukini Carbs.  K&N filters.  Back wheel - 4" rim.  No chain guard (I prefer the look).  Key can be taken out of ignition when started to keep it away from the chain.  Side plate and light.  No indicators. I have had this bike since 2011 but have not used it in the last 18 months.  I start it up and give it a quick run every month just to make sure all's well.  I have replaced the fork seals. had a new cover gasket fitted and cam cover stoppers.  It also had a full clean and set up of the carbs shortly after I bought it.  I bought a new battery for it last week. There's no MOT and it's currently SORN as I don't use it but I've never had a problem getting it MOTed (even with the loud exhaust system). The paintwork is a little bit tatty in places and it does have a few chips to the paintwork both on the frame and tank.  There are a few places the paint is starting to flake away.  The is a very small dent in the tank. The chrome work also has started to go in places with some parts of the engine covers (mainly the alternator cover). the end of one of the pipes and the wheels - See pics. I have a Haynes manual. spare chaindrive cover and a few other odds and sods included with the sale.  I've only done about 1000 miles since I bought it as I have other bikes.   THE IMPORTANT BIT:  Please understand that this is not an West Coast Chopper or a show bike.  It's not a new bike.  It's loud and raw and a bike that has been ridden over the years.  I'm afraid I am unsure of the genuine mileage but the last guy I bought it from had it for 6 years and didn't ride it much either.  It runs great. nbsp;doesn't smoke and there are no knocks.  It is certainly fun to ride.  It's also very fast and torquey (being a GS1000) yet stops like no other chopper.  V5 is present. POINTS YOU NEED TO KNOW (the things I haven't had time to sort):One of the carbs appears to drip a bit of fuel when the bike is parked.  Not loads. but I want to point this out. The rear brake needs bleeding.   One of the front twin lights has a loose connection so needs sorting. The speedo cable needs either setting up properly or replacing as the needle bounces when riding the bike.  This is not a fault of the wheel. I bought an expensive seat from the US as I was planning to bobber the seat but never got round sorting it so the the current seat is bracketed on at the front and held down with cable ties at the back. I've bought and sold bikes on eBay quite a few times and being a biker I always try to be as honest as possible when selling.  It's only fair.  I offer no refunds or warranty of any kind with the bike.  I do love the bike (hence the reason it's taken me a year to finally put her on eBay) and I'm only selling it because I have another bike and could do with the cash.  Seems a shame to have a lovely custom chop just sitting under a cover in the garage.  If you're unsure of the points above then I recommend you pop over one evening and take a look at the bike.  I live in South Oxfordshire  not far off the M4 M40.   For those of you interested but can't get to me there is a link for a walk around video below.  You Tube and search on "1980 GS1000 Uncle Bunt Chop"No time wasters please. Buyer must pay £100 non refundable deposit by Paypal within 24 hours of winning. and the balance by cash on collection within 7 days unless otherwise agreed.  I would be happy to arrange for it to be transported to most places in the UK by a professional insured courier company for a cost of around £180 (depending where you live).  You will have to pay the balance of the bike via bank transfer and I will get the bike shipped to you. If you have below 10 positive feedbacks please contact me before you make a bid. all bids below 10 positives will be removed otherwise.  No overseas bidding.  Emails ignoring this will be deleted. Finally I have the bike advertised elsewhere so have the right to withdraw the bike from eBay at anytime.  If you want to see a video walk round of the bike that I filmed this morning please go to You Tube and search on "1980 GS1000 Uncle Bunt Chop".  Set it to 1080p HD for a better quality.  Hopefully I have covered it all including all marks and blemishes.  Please ignore the wavey motions in some of the video.  That is You Tube's attempt to stablilise the video! Thanks for looking. Cheers Steve. SOLD AS SEENPrice agreed is price payable on Collection NO Haggling. Thank You.
