Very rare opportunity to buy a classic RG500 these bikes don't come up very often now. They just keep going up in value too. brilliant investments. Year 1989 imported into the UK in 1996. 3 former keepersThis is a project bike for restoration. You won't be able to fix it up in a weekend and ride it. It will require parts & rebuild to see it on the road again! I have had this bike running previously but I would not advise running it. until the engine has been stripped & inspected. Having said that it turns over fine & has been running before. There are multiple parts missing. including all bodywork & tank. The bodywork was almost all non original and so I threw it away. No tank included and the exhaust cans are not original Suzuki. The engine is not 500cc. it is a 400cc over sized bore to 460 or 470cc- don't know the exact size. Good points;Very rare 2 stroke bike that just keeps going up in value even in this condition (the bike has at least doubled in value in the last 4 years i've owned it)Lots of original partsGreat project to restore or for parts/investment2 stroke sound square 4Bad pointsLots of parts missing including bodywork & tankEngine is not 500cc original. It is a RG400 K301 over bored to 460cc or 470ccExhausts non original & 1 x lower race can missingWheels not original they are magnesium race type wheelsWill require lots & lots of work to return it to the road againOverall a great project or source of spares. The bike is HPI clear and i'll try and find the V5 for it. Keys included. I have owned the bike for the last 4 years or so. Reason for sale? I bought it to restore it but i'll never have the time & I need the funds to complete my other RG500 restoration. Price- no reserve higher bidder wins unless you make me an amazing offer!Collection from Southampton or we can get it delivered with BLD for £130 to most of the UK. Bank transfer or cash payment please.

To answer any questions and confirm the identity of the bike. This is a genuine RG500 with HM31 frame number. The engine is an RG400 bored out to a 465cc. The engine number on the V5 is also RG500 but this does not match the RG400 engine that is in the bike. My intention was to sell the RG400 engine and replace with a RG500.
