Suzuki GS850GT 1980 classic

I have owned and enjoyed this bike for a number of years now but it is a large and heavy machine.  I am average build and now 68 years old and I think its time that I stick to a lightweight motorcycle!It is an American import. manufactured in 1980. which was properly registered here in 1991 It has a Powerbronze fairing fitted to which I have added a standard car lighter socket and a Sat Nav which can be charged through the socket. as can your phone.  The Sat Nav is included in the sale but not easy to read in bright sunlight though. This year I have fitted a new battery. new clutch plates and springs and balanced the carbs. fitted new fork seals and new front brake pads. Oil and filter change. new spark plugs. All within the last 1000 miles. The original full height screen is cracked so I fitted a lower screen from a Honda which I prefer. visibility in a shower is now not impeded by the full height screen and there is no distortion of the road surface. The rear luggage rack is very useful and will carry large boxes or a two gallon petrol can with ease. I do not have any hard luggage for the bike. The engine runs well but there are a few very minor oil weeps when the engine is running and some oil does get onto the hot exhaust in slow traffic. the engine otherwise does not burn oil or drop oil when parked. The tyres are good and all indicator lights and gauges are working. It  still has the American speedo so I can only assume that the low mileage is correct.  I have fitted a UK light switch so the headlight can be switched off removing the extra battery drain when starting. its your choice if you drive with the lights on. I believe that this model has a higher output alternator than the UK version.
