Suzuki GSX1100 Katana 1981 factory Yoshimura tuned in excellent condition

This is an original UK specification machine manufactured in 1981 that was ordered by the first owner when he was working in Hong Kong. he returned with the bike to the UK in August 1984 and it was registered on an X plate by the DVLA on 7 August 1984. This was handled by Wall & Sagar Ltd. who were Suzuki dealers for 25 years in Lancaster until 1987/88. the company are now based in Morecambe. The bike was cared for by them and as the owner continued to work abroad the bike was serviced and prepared for him when he returned to the UK from time to time. Eventually Wall and Sagar Ltd purchased the bike from the original owner on 29 November 1996 and it was part of an extensive collection of Katana motorcycles owned by Tony Wall. I bought this bike from Tony on 2 October 2004 and have owned it for the past 10 years. I took it for an MOT today and it passed with no advisories. the road tax expires on 31 October 2014. Looking back on old MOT certificates I've covered only 1. 38 miles in the last 10 years. I have some older MOT certificates which further substantiate the remarkably low mileage for a 33 year old bike and the MOT history I have is: 21. 04 4 August 2001 21. 30 10 June 2003 22. 13 1 October 2004 22. 13 6 July 2006 23. 07 3 October 2011 23. 88 29 October 2013 23. 48 3 October 2014 There have been SORN periods and at all times the Katana has been garaged and hooked up to a trickle charger. I have access to a private road and the Kat has been regularly started up and ridden to keep it fresh throughout my period of ownership. In late 1981 the GSX1100S Katana was the fastest mass produced motorcycle in the world and this one is a factory Yoshimura tuned example. hence the oil cooler and Mikuni carb's. The original Yoshimura exhaust system had long since given up the ghost prior to my ownership. a Motad system was fitted when I bought it and I replaced that with a new Vance and Hines 4 into 1. Please note there was no service history available from Wall and Sagar Ltd when I purchased this Katana and I service my own machines. I can assure any prospective owner that regular oil and filter changes have been completed and any inspection is welcome. A genuine Suzuki workshop manual is included with the bike along with the MOT certificates and a smattering of receipts for other parts fitted include a new battery on 3 August 2012 and new front and rear tyres on 20 October 2011 when the mileage was 23. 45. There have been some minor bits and pieces including a throttle cable and a front brake light switch too. Goodrich stainless steel braided brake hoses are fitted all round and the bike is complete with both centre and side stands. The chain and sprockets are in good condition and all service items brake pads. discs. tyres etc have plenty of life left in them. This is a genuine. tidy Katana with an interesting history. they're becoming increasingly rare in this specification (especially factory Yoshimura tuned Katanas) and often sadly end up forming the basis of streetfighter conversions - each to their own. I have several projects on the go and just don't get the time to ride this bike as much as I should. Payment by cash on collection is preferred but I will accept paypal if necessary.
