Description

Where do I start? I?ˆ™m really hesitant to get rid of this bike I?ˆ™ve had her now for going on 3 years. I?ˆ™ve stripped her down and built her back nut and bolt at a time.

Each bolt were polished or replaced with new ones ill list the whole project below. I decided in the end to turn it into a street fighter project. I chose to use the Ducati 1098 rear tail sub frame and fairings. just because I?ˆ™ve never seen it used before and I think it looks beautiful! In changing the frame. the battery had to find a new home. so I removed the old air box. and in its place manufactured a battery box. The air box was then changed to the K&N Pod Air filters that attach directly onto the carburettor. Those of you in the know would have heard of the dale walker holeshot stage 2-jet kit. One of the best packages out there!

it included:

K&N large pod filters K&N crank case filter Original Keihin main jets Needle shims Holeshot?® +5?° timing advancer Timing advancer cover gasket

I?ˆ™ve also got the valve clearances adjusted (of which I was told the valve springs were uprated after market - must have been previous owner) professionally by a reputable mechanic and garage and all my work checked over from welding work to each nut and bolt and wiring. The carbs have been balanced too!

The Swing arm was also changed by previous owner for the Bandit 1200 swing arm. and so the rear wheel is a bandit 1200 (slightly wider than the 600) gives it a better look in my opinion and little more grip with a wider tyre.

It?ˆ™s since been through its mot with flying colours. Recently I just changed the tyres both front and back with Bridgestone Battleaxe BT-021. the grip on them is staggering! And gives ultimate confidence on the road. A breakdown of cost shown summary of work done and how much I?ˆ™ve spent: - Renthal Bars - ??40 - New Grips - ??30

- HEL High performance Braided Brake Lines Front and Rear - ??90 - Dale Walkers Holeshot stage 2-jet kit - ??250 - Ducati 1098 Rear Subframe - ??100 - Ducati 1098 Rear Fairing. Seat. and passenger cover - ??175 - Ducati 1098 Carbon Fibre Undertray - ??100

- Carbon Fibre Front Fender Extender - ??20 - Ducati 1098 Number Plate Bracket and mount - ??70 - Suzuki Bandit 600 Slash cut stubby exhaust and link pipe - ??180

- Downpipe Clamp Bolts and gaskets - ??23 - Various other Nuts and bolts and gaskets - ??70 - Bridgestone Battleaxe BT 021 Front and rear - ??225 - Professional Valve Clearance adjustment carb balance and all work professionally checked - ??150 this isn?ˆ™t taking into account mot's and services which i change the engine oil and filter. and break fluid every year or so or all the tools I bought to fix her up. I?ˆ™ve spent roughly over ??2000 on her Incredibly low mileage for her age just under 30. 00 for a 1997 reg. I?ˆ™ve got so much love for this bike so I would very much like her to be looked after who ever takes her off my hands I will be sad to see her go but I need the money as I?ˆ™m moving house.
